00:00Personally, I think this is what TV drama does best, but particularly in Britain, and

00:13particularly the BBC, I think things that are writer-led prove to be far more successful

00:20for the BBC, and people really respond to them. It's what they expect, I think.

00:31Drama like this, you know, that deals with adult issues in an adult and contemporary

00:36way, with good characterisation, good plot. And the other great thing is, you see, you

00:42attract the best actors, you attract the best directors. If they get given a good script,

00:48you get anybody, because people want to do, actors want to do good scripts. Whether it's

00:52on the big screen, or the small screen, or on a stage, or in a radio studio, if your

00:56script is good and tight, then you'll attract really good people.

01:25along, just for the need to kind of, you know, I have to work, I have to work. So I was sort

01:30of in a fortunate enough position to be able to sort of be a bit more choosy and wait for

01:36the right thing, and this was sent to me, and I thought it was terrific, it was a great

01:39read.
