00:00One third of the way through the regular season, and if you look at the Stanley Cup odds, it

00:09is still wide open.

00:11It's not the Capitals who lead the East with the best record.

00:14It's not the Wild in the West.

00:15It's the Edmonton Oilers and Conor McDavid, eighth best record out of the Western Conference,

00:21but they're the shortest price at plus 800.

00:23Will this be the team to beat?

00:27I think I mean, come playoff time, probably right when you have Conor McDavid and Leon

00:30Drysdale that went to the Stanley Cup finals last year and forced the seventh game.

00:34But I don't really like what I'm seeing from them so far.

00:37They lost a couple important pieces in the offseason.

00:39They could add near the deadline, but I like the Dallas Stars.

00:42The Dallas Stars, a team that lost to Edmonton, lost to the Vegas Gold Knights a couple years

00:46ago.

00:47Those two teams went to the Stanley Cup finals and, you know, Vegas won a couple years ago,

00:51but they rank among the leaders in shot attempts, shots, scoring chances, high danger chances,

00:55goals, expected goals at five and five.

00:57I really look at teams that dominate play five and five because in the playoffs, you

01:01hear it all the time, right?

01:02The whistles are put away.

01:03You're not going to get five or six power plays a game.

01:06Show me the team that has strong goal tending.

01:09They're strong defensively.

01:10They're among the leaders in eliminating those high danger chances at five and five.

01:15They have the fifth best penalty kill in the NHL, allowing the third fewest goals per game

01:20in the NHL, top five and five, five, say percentage as well.

01:23And they got a great mix of youth and experience as well.

01:28So they can hit you in a lot of different ways, like the Dallas Stars.
