00:00Party Gagasan Rakyat Sabah has dismissed calls for party president Hajiji Noor to step down

00:08as Sabah chief minister.

00:11Its youth wing chief, Fairooz Rindan, said the videos allegedly linking several Sabah

00:16assemblymen to a mining scandal do not implicate Hajiji in any way.

00:22Instead, Fairooz said they showed that Hajiji had revoked a prospecting licence due to the

00:29existence of a cartel.

00:32He also pointed out that the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission has yet to summon the chief minister

00:37for questioning.

00:41He said this showed that Hajiji was not involved in the case and that there was no legal basis

00:47to demand his resignation.

00:50Earlier today, Sabah Amno youth called for Hajiji to step down to allow for an independent

00:56and transparent investigation into the scandal.

01:00In response, Fairooz took a jab at Sabah Amno chief, Bung Mokhtar Radin, who was charged

01:07with corruption in 2019 but served as deputy chief minister from 2020 to 2023.
