We take a look a the lights on a home in Burgess Hill, and how they are raising money for disabled childrens' riding charity

00:00Hi I'm Sue and we live in St. Peter's Road Burgess Hill and we do our lights

00:05every year for a local charity. This year we've chosen to do it for Riding for

00:09the Disabled who are a local group within our community that service three

00:15schools and we also have independent children that come to us. We have six

00:20children each in each of the groups and we do it on a Thursday and we run from

00:2510 o'clock in the morning to midday so that means we have four groups of

00:30children of six and sometimes eight. We need volunteers if anybody is will be

00:38inclined to help us we always want volunteers you don't have to be

00:40horsey-minded you've just got to love children and see the delight on their

00:44faces. It does them a power of good mentally and physically because an

00:49awful lot of our children are physically disabled and yes I mean they

00:55a lot of them come here and enjoy our lights as well. We've been doing this

01:01ever since we've lived here we've been living here 30 years and at first we

01:06didn't do it for charity but we sort of then decided that we got bigger and

01:09bigger that we would and my husband and I start doing the lights in October and

01:16we finished just a few days ago in fact it will probably evolve during the month

01:20of December as well and we're open the lights would be open from all of December

01:26right up until twelfth night because I'm a traditionalist as far as that's

01:30concerned and also if you'd like to come down and see our lights and donate to us

01:35that would be really lovely we have a QR code which you can use or there is a

01:40collection box also especially for the children because they like to put a few

01:45coins in the box but please to come down and see our lights and we're as

01:50we're trying to raise money as much money as we possibly can for a very

01:53well-worth cause
