Wright-Phillips backing Guardiola and City to turn things around

Former Manchester City midfielder, Shaun Wright-Phillips, expects his old side to turn their fortunes around.

00:05their first win and get that feeling back and that hunger and that addiction, I think they'll be fine.

00:26the scene and like you said I think that they've set such high standards for themselves in terms

00:32of what they've achieved over the last four years that anything under that for us there's

00:43I think he's brilliant. I think things like that are good for the game

00:47personally and it's not him being arrogant and it's not Liverpool fans being a nuisance.

00:53I've played at Anfield and to be fair it's a daunting ground to go to but I've always

00:59had a laugh with the fans in terms of what they say to me. If I was on the bench I'd turn around

01:04and just laugh and they always have a good banter and as soon as he said it back they kind of laughed

01:10and it kind of went away so it shows that they just have mutual respect for each other.

01:16If you look at the games it's not that he hasn't had chances and it's not that in some of them

01:22and or maybe 50% or more of them he hasn't hit he's hit the target but you can't do anything

01:27if the keeper pulls off wonderful saves like against Wolves, Jovi Sarmade, two

01:32unbelievable saves and one of them were against him that's just you have to give credit to say

01:37the other team as well as just be basically like he's not converting his chances. It's

01:42for me in many ways it's been good defending from a lot of teams although that's it indeed

01:46the chances they're giving him ain't always clear-cut chances he's had to fight for them.

01:54The injuries have killed them in many ways you replace Rodri in terms of putting Kovacic in

02:03there but then now he's picked up an injury so they're very light in an area you would say

02:08control games in the midfield and now we're playing in the midfield with pretty much free

02:13attacking midfielders or full-back plays in there or a centre-back and although they're doing good

02:19jobs that's at times especially in possession of the ball having to defend the midfielder or

02:24a whole or a box-to-box midfielder in it is with that tackling desire is completely different.
