00:16The MOA arena was buzzing last night showcasing breathtaking performances from eight universities in the UAAP Season 87 Cheer Dance Competition.
00:26The standout NUPEP squad delivered a heart-stopping and all-out performance that secured their title as champions once again after a two-year gap.
00:36Under theme and universe, the athletes shone brightly complemented by impressive props and dazzling costumes.
00:43One of the highlights of their team was a remarkable Ferris Wheels team performance.
00:49This win marks a historic achievement for the head coach of the NUPEP squad as they become the eight-time defending champions in a fierce competition against other universities.
01:00It's a history for NUPEP squad na makasama na namin yung magagaling na teams like UP and UST na may eight title talaga.
01:12We're very very happy na our program is still talagang effective pa rin and we will continue to make it ayusin pa sya.
01:21Alam namin ang programa lagi ay lagi dapat in-update so we'll continue that and we will continue to give a beautiful and happy performance every year for you guys.
01:35Coach Gabriel Bahacan also revealed that they trained and came prepared for this event after falling short of the title last year.
01:43After what happened sa amin last year, we tried talaga to start it early.
01:50Yun po yung naging kulang sa amin because of yung mga changes na nangyari, transition of coaches na ako yung naibigay na head coach ng NU.
02:01So talagang we tried po this year to do everything mas early po.
02:06Self-discipline was the team's secret in their cast for the coveted Golden Trophy.
02:12Yung disipline ng team kasi kung wala yun, hindi namin magagawa yung bagay na yun.
02:20Hindi namin nine-expect so like sumunod sa coach, sumunod sa managers, sumunod sa captains yan.
02:28Yung makinig ka lang and sumunod, sobrang laking yung bagay na.
02:32The MOA arena was filled with vibrant colors and thousands of supporters from different universities.
02:38The Adamson Pep Squad also made a strong impression with their stunts, synchronized with their karaoke theme, earning them the first runner-up title.
02:47Meanwhile, the FEU Cheering Squad missed out on back-to-back victories but they still managed to secure third place in the competition.
