00:00Everything might have been perfectly buddy-buddy on-screen, but when the cameras were off,
00:04these actors couldn't get away from each other fast enough.
00:07Terrence Howard has never been shy about discussing his falling out with Iron Man co-star Robert
00:12Downey Jr.
00:13In 2013, Howard appeared on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live, discussing the three-picture
00:18deal which the studio had originally offered him.
00:20They came to me with a second and said, look, we will pay you one-eighth of what we contractually
00:27had for you."
00:28He went on to put the blame firmly on Downey's shoulders.
00:31"...and I called my friend that I helped get the first job, and he didn't call me back
00:36for three months."
00:37It would take another three years for the pair to finally patch up their differences
00:41when they reunited at the 2016 wedding of director Brian Grazer.
00:46When Jim Carrey starred as the Riddler in Batman Forever, he was at the height of his
00:50comedic career.
00:51But his co-star, Tommy Lee Jones, who played Harvey Dent, was definitely not a fan of Carrey's
00:55slapstick style.
00:57Actor Joel Schumacher confirmed that Jones had something of an attitude on set, telling
01:01Entertainment Weekly,
01:02"...Jim Carrey was a gentleman, and Tommy Lee was threatened by him.
01:05I'm tired of defending overpaid, overprivileged actors."
01:08The night before filming a scene together, Carrey and Jones ran into each other at a
01:12restaurant.
01:13When Carrey approached Jones' table to say hello, he didn't get quite the greeting he
01:17expected.
01:18Carrey told Howard Stern that,
01:19"...he got up kind of shaking and hugged me and said, I hate you, I really don't like
01:23you.
01:24And I was like, wow, what's going on, man?
01:26And he said, I cannot sanction your buffoonery."
01:28"...very few people are both a summer and a winter, but you pull it off nicely."
01:35Throughout the 90s, Tom Sizemore's star was on a meteoric rise in Hollywood, thanks in
01:39particular to his roles in great dramatic films like 1995's Heat, which he featured
01:44in alongside Val Kilmer.
01:46But when Kilmer and Sizemore reunited five years later on the set of Red Planet, things
01:50weren't so rosy.
01:51Reportedly, Kilmer was upset when he learned that the production had paid to ship Sizemore's
01:55exercise equipment to Australia, where filming was taking place.
01:59According to Sizemore's memoir By Some Miracle I Made It Out of There, a shouting match erupted
02:03which ended with Tom throwing a 50-pound weight at Kilmer.
02:06Later, a producer asked Sizemore to avoid hitting Kilmer in the face when they got into
02:10their next fight.
02:12Tom complied, dutifully slugging Kilmer in the chest and telling him,
02:15"...I'm never going to another planet with you again."
02:18Time heals all wounds, however, and the two former co-stars had finally buried the hatchet
02:22as of 2014.
02:24Much of the 2006 military drama Annapolis centers around a planned boxing tournament
02:29for the U.S. Naval Academy, but Franco took his method acting way too far.
02:34According to co-star Tyrese Gibson, Franco actually landed punches during rehearsal.
02:39Gibson told Elle,
02:40"...the dude was full-on hitting me.
02:41I was always like, James, lighten up, man.
02:43We're just practicing.
02:45He never lightened up."
02:46Franco denies ever hitting Gibson, but admitted to GQ,
02:49"...I was probably a jerk."
02:50But the admission wasn't good enough for Gibson, who told Playboy in 2007,
02:54"...I never want to work with him again, and I'm sure he feels the same way.
02:58It felt very personal.
02:59It was f----- up."
03:01Co-stars in the 1994 rom-com I Love Trouble, Roberts and Nolte didn't mesh well onscreen
03:06or off.
03:07Reportedly, the constant quarreling got so bad that director Charles Shire resorted to
03:12filming some of their scenes separately to keep them apart as much as possible.
03:16Before shooting, Roberts told The New York Times that Nolte was
03:19"...completely disgusting and seems to go out of his way to repel people."
03:23Nolte later shot back,
03:24"...it's not nice to call someone disgusting, but she's not a nice person.
03:28Everyone knows that."
03:30For years, there's been an apparent behind-the-scenes feud between Gere and Stallone.
03:34Stallone finally explained the beef between the actors with Ain't It Cool News in 2006,
03:39saying Gere had originally been cast as the lead in 1974's The Lords of Flatbush.
03:45Since Gere and Stallone clashed immediately during filming, Gere was replaced by Perry
03:49King.
03:50Stallone recalls Gere getting too rough during fight rehearsals and spilling greasy food
03:55all over Stallone's pants.
03:56Sly claims,
03:57"...to this day, he seriously dislikes me.
03:59He even thinks I'm the individual responsible for the gerbil rumor.
04:03Not true, but that's the rumor."
04:05It was one of the most famous Hollywood rivalries of all time, so much that effects even developed
04:10a series centered on the feud.
04:12"...and action!"
04:14"...Ow!
04:15God dammit!"
04:16"...I barely touched her."
04:17These two queens of the silver screen had it in for each other as early as the 1930s,
04:22when Davis starred in the film Dangerous alongside Franchot Tone.
04:25Davis was soon smitten with the actor, but Crawford won that round, marrying Tone soon
04:30after the movie wrapped production.
04:32Later, Davis famously remarked,
04:34"...Crawford slept with every male star at MGM except Lassie."
04:38The rivalry came to a fever pitch in the 1960s, when Davis and Crawford co-starred
04:42in Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?
04:44When only Davis was nominated for an Oscar for her role in the film, Crawford was livid.
04:49"...God, I hate this night!"
04:52Crawford campaigned against Davis and managed to steal the limelight for herself when she
04:56accepted the Oscar on behalf of winner Anne Bancroft, who was unable to attend the ceremony.
05:01Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy had a love-hate relationship on the set of George Miller's
05:052015 dystopian epic Mad Max Fury Road.
05:13Okay, make that a hate-hate relationship.
05:16The Oscar-winning actress put it bluntly in an interview with Esquire, saying that she
05:20and Hardy f----- went at it on the set.
05:23"...It was the isolation, and the fact that we were stuck in a rig for the entire shoot.
05:27We shot a war movie on a moving truck.
05:29There's very little green screen.
05:31It was like a family road trip that just never went anywhere.
05:34We never got anywhere.
05:35We just drove.
05:36We drove into nothingness, and that was maddening sometimes."
05:39She also added that even though the actors drove each other crazy, they still had an
05:43immense amount of respect for one another.
05:46Hardy even left her a semi-sentimental note after it was done, which read,
05:49"...You are an absolute nightmare, but you are also f----- awesome.
05:53I'll kind of miss you.
05:55Love, Tommy."
05:56Hardy's history of beefing with co-stars didn't start with Theron.
06:00He also reportedly got in a fistfight with Shia LaBeouf on the set of 2012's Lawless,
06:05which LaBeouf apparently won.
06:07Hardy himself later admitted as much,
06:09"...Although his description of the fight sounded a little tongue-in-cheek.
06:13He knocked me out, Sparco.
06:14Out cold.
06:15He's a bad, bad boy.
06:16He is.
06:17He's quite intimidating as well.
06:18He's a scary dude.
06:20He just attacked me.
06:21He was drinking moonshine."
06:22For his part, LaBeouf claimed the liquor had nothing to do with his aggression toward Hardy,
06:27telling MTV that their on-set battle wasn't moonshine-related at all, and was instead
06:31straight love.
06:32"...We were playing brothers.
06:34There was a constant finger-in-the-ear teasing thing going on for a while.
06:37It was all love.
06:38I loved the dude like a brother, straight up."
06:40Dustin Hoffman and Meryl Streep's working relationship on the set of the Oscar-winning
06:45film Kramer vs. Kramer played out a lot like the divorced couple they were playing onscreen.
06:51Over the years, Streep has been vocal about the intensity that Hoffman brought to each
06:55Which often startled her, and sometimes downright scared her.
06:59Streep told CBS News,
07:00"...I think Hoffman is very, very gifted, but it wasn't the most fun I've ever had on
07:04film."
07:05Yeah, no kidding.
07:07Jack Bauer might have been a fan-favorite superstar of the small screen, but Kiefer
07:11Sutherland's co-star Freddie Prinze Jr. absolutely despised working with the actor on the set
07:16of 24.
07:17He told ABC News,
07:19"...Kiefer was the most unprofessional dude in the world.
07:22That's not me talking trash — I'll say it to his face.
07:24I think everyone that worked with him has said that."
07:27Prinze's dislike for Sutherland extended so far that he said he even considered quitting
07:31show business after working with him.
07:34Why was Prinze so bothered by Sutherland?
07:36For one, Prinze had to take his shoes off to do scenes with him for the show, because
07:40he was so much taller than Sutherland.
07:42"...Just put the guy in an Apple box or don't hire me next time.
07:45You know I'm six feet and he's five foot four."
07:47Hey, it could've been worse.
07:49After all, this is Jack Bauer we're talking about.
07:52"...I just watched my father die, and I felt nothing."
07:56Betty White is so likable that it's hard to imagine anyone not wanting to become her
08:00best friend.
08:01Unfortunately, White's upbeat personality didn't mesh well with co-star Bea Arthur during
08:06the filming of their iconic sitcom The Golden Girls.
08:09White revealed during a 2013 panel discussion with The New York Times,
08:12"...We were all close, but our personalities are all so different.
08:16Bea found me a pain in the neck sometimes because of my positive attitude.
08:20I'm happy all the time, and that made Bea mad sometimes."
08:22"...Whoa, where's me?
08:25Whoa!"
08:26"...Damn, pop it."
08:30Ross and Rachel were the couple on Friends that everyone couldn't stop talking about.
08:35But when they were on one of their famous breaks, Rachel tried to seduce Joshua, played
08:39by Tate Donovan.
08:41The two eventually had a brief relationship, but Joshua's arc is mostly remembered for
08:45the incredibly cringeworthy ways in which Jennifer Aniston as Rachel tried to seduce
08:50him.
08:51The writing made it uncomfortable, but there was another factor at play behind the scenes
08:55that made the relationship even more awkward.
08:58Aniston and Donovan had been a couple in real life, and they'd just broken up when he got
09:02the call to appear on Friends.
09:04He thought this might be a healthy way to move past the relationship, but he soon discovered
09:08that the opposite was true.
09:10In a 2013 interview with HuffPost Live, he admitted that filming romantic scenes with
09:15his ex was horrible, while also noting,
09:18"...I remember just getting back to my dressing room and just weeping."
09:23Donovan may have been able to laugh about it while looking back, but it was clearly
09:26a bad experience for him at the time.
09:29Acting alongside someone you've recently broken up with is one thing, but acting alongside
09:33your ex-husband who cheated on you is another entirely.
09:37Alas, that's exactly what Sophia Bush had to do on the teen drama One Tree Hill.
09:42She played Brooke Davis, who was in a love triangle that also involved Chad Michael Murray's
09:47Lucas Scott.
09:48At first, the romantic tension between the two boiled over happily into real life, as
09:53Bush and Murray quickly got engaged and married, but it all came crashing down almost immediately.
09:58The couple said,
09:59"...I do," in April 2005, but then they split up in September of that same year.
10:04On a 2006 episode of Ryan Seacrest's radio show, musician Nick Carter alleged that this
10:09was because his ex-girlfriend Paris Hilton had an affair with Murray.
10:13Unfortunately for Murray and Bush, they had to continue working on One Tree Hill together
10:18until it came to an end in 2012.
10:21Bush has since tried to avoid talking about the incident, but when it did come up during
10:25a 2021 episode of the Inside of You podcast, she explained,
10:29"...I'm not going to talk about him.
10:30I'm not allowed to because I've tried to poke fun at being a dumb kid and whenever I've
10:35done that, it gets twisted.
10:37It's not worth my time.
10:38It's not a place where I harbor ill will or anything."
10:40Similar to Mulder and Scully, Richard Castle and Kate Beckett were professional partners
10:45who also had fantastic romantic chemistry.
10:48The Castle leads eventually became a couple and started a family as the seasons went on,
10:53but the relationship between actors Nathan Fillion and Stana Kadic was apparently not
10:58quite as rosy.
10:59Neither actor has publicly addressed the working relationship directly, but an insider told
11:04Us Weekly in 2016 that things were indeed quite difficult on set.
11:08Fillion was reportedly so harsh to Kadic that she would cry in her dressing room, and the
11:13two were apparently even forced to attend counseling sessions together.
11:17The show ended in 2016 after eight seasons, but her departure from it was quite messy.
11:22First, it was announced that her contract hadn't been renewed, and then ABC announced
11:26that the show was ending.
11:27In a 2018 interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kadic addressed her departure by noting,
11:32It hurt, and it was a harsh ending.
11:34However, she did also claim that she was still overall thankful for the experience.
11:39Sometimes, co-stars hit it off right away, only for the relationship to gradually deteriorate
11:44over time.
11:45But fortunately, Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley experienced the complete opposite when they
11:49starred together on The Vampire Diaries.
11:52Dobrev played Elena, who was in a love triangle with Paul Wesley's Stefan and Ian Somerhalder's
11:57Damon.
11:58Alas, Dobrev and Wesley clashed immediately.
12:01They both stayed quiet about it at the time, but they've talked about it in the years since.
12:05During a 2019 appearance on the directionally-challenged podcast, for example, Dobrev explained,
12:11There's a fine line between love and hate, and we despised each other so much that it
12:16read as love.
12:17Wesley seconded these thoughts in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, as he admitted,
12:21Creatively, it just wasn't in sync.
12:24Thankfully, this story has a happy ending.
12:26The timeline of their reconciliation is a little wonky.
12:29As Dobrev says it only took a few months, while Wesley claims it took a few seasons.
12:34But regardless, they eventually became friends.
12:36They only have praise for each other now, with both saying that they talk regularly.
12:40So now, I just adore her, she adores me.
12:44Before there was Ross and Rachel, or Mulder and Scully, TV's ultimate will-they-or-won't-they
12:49couple was Maddie and David on Moonlighting, who were played by Sybil Shepard and Bruce
12:53Willis, respectively.
12:55Fans tuned in every week to see them solve cases and flirt with each other.
12:59Unfortunately, like so many TV couples with unresolved romantic tension, things quickly
13:04went downhill after they resolved it.
13:06In 2005, Shepard told Entertainment Weekly that Willis was great to work with at first.
13:11As she put it,
13:12With Bruce, the temperature in the room went 20 degrees higher.
13:15For me, anyway.
13:16However, over time, the two of them simply began to hate each other.
13:20She blamed the mutual dislike on the show's volatile nature.
13:23But their co-star Curtis Armstrong has claimed that there was more to the story.
13:27As he wrote in his book Revenge of the Nerd,
13:29Bruce intimated to me that there had been one disastrously ill-conceived thing between
13:35him and Sybil early on in the show's run.
13:37While not going into explicit details, he made it clear that that kind of mistake was
13:42one I should be sure never to make.
13:45Fortunately, though, Willis and Shepard eventually decided that their grudge should die hard
13:49with a vengeance, and they even reunited at his Comedy Central roast in 2018.
13:54Before he was known as that guy who starred in all those religious films, Kurt Cameron
13:59broke big as Mike Seaver on the ABC sitcom Growing Pains.
14:03Alas, when he converted to Christianity near the end of the show's run, he became a holy
14:07terror.
14:08There are differing accounts of what exactly went down between Cameron and his co-star
14:12Julie McAuliffe, who played Julie Costello, but it's clear that neither one liked the
14:17other very much.
14:18There are two different versions of the story, though everyone besides Cameron tells the
14:23same one.
14:24In a 2017 interview with Wingman magazine, McAuliffe claimed that Cameron had her removed
14:29from the show because she'd posed nude in Playboy, which went against his newfound faith.
14:35He gave her an ultimatum, and that proved to be the end of her run.
14:38Cameron has never spoken publicly about the incident, but he was quite controlling on
14:43the set, which he admitted to in an interview with CBN.
14:46At times, he even forced writers to rewrite scenes that he deemed immoral.
14:50When you make a decision, like, I'm not comfortable saying that line or doing that scene, well
14:56that meant that 11 writers had to come up with a new scene."
14:59Furthermore, he confessed to the Los Angeles Times in 2000 that he'd cut off contact with
15:04his Growing Pains castmates for quite some time.
15:07As for McAuliffe, her Twitter feed makes it quite clear that she's still not a fan of
15:11her former co-star.
15:13She called him out in 2017 for his words about the victims of Hurricane Irma.
15:18Fans wouldn't be what they are today without I Love Lucy.
15:21Lucille Ball was of course the star of the show, but her co-stars Vivian Vance and William
15:26Frawley, who played Lucy's neighbors Ethel and Fred Mertz, were also a big part of what
15:30made it so great.
15:31The always-bickering couple had fantastic chemistry, but the fighting didn't end when
15:35the camera stopped rolling.
15:37Vance was only two years younger than Ball, but she was playing the wife of a man more
15:41than two decades her senior.
15:43According to the book Meet the Mertzes, Vance admitted,
15:46"...I loathed William Frawley, and the feeling was mutual.
15:49Whenever I received new script, I raced through it, praying that there wouldn't be a scene
15:53where we had to be in bed together."
15:55Frawley, in turn, didn't have very nice things to say.
15:57As he quipped,
15:58"...she's one of the finest girls to come out of Kansas, but I often wish she'd go back
16:02there."
16:03According to an oft-repeated story, which was recorded in the book The Dead Celebrity
16:07Cookbook, Vance was at a restaurant when she learned that Frawley had died.
16:11Upon hearing the news, she ordered champagne for everyone.
16:15Whether or not this story is true, it accurately sums up the hostile working relationship between
16:20the two.
16:22Shia LaBeouf has attracted his fair share of controversy in his career, and entire headlines
16:27have been dedicated to the Transformers actor's reported conflicts with his co-stars.
16:31One of his strangest bust-ups happened on the 2013 Broadway production Orphans, which
16:36he departed after an issue with Alec Baldwin.
16:39According to Baldwin's comments to New York Magazine, there had been problems from the
16:43beginning since LaBeouf had already memorized his lines, while Baldwin hadn't.
16:48Baldwin alleged that his co-star reacted aggressively to him in rehearsal.
16:51So the hunt for Red October actor pulled aside director Dan Sullivan and said someone needed
16:56to exit, offering to depart the project altogether.
16:59However, the director chose to fire LaBeouf instead.
17:03Baldwin said that the move blindsided LaBeouf, explaining,
17:06"...he had that card, that card you get when you make films that make a lot of money that
17:10gives you a certain kind of entitlement.
17:12I think he was surprised that it didn't work in the theater."
17:15Baldwin also accused the director of duplicity and not being entirely committed to the production.
17:20LaBeouf responded by posting screenshots of his email correspondences with both Baldwin
17:25and Sullivan, confirming that there had been exchanges regarding Baldwin's lack of preparation
17:30for the play and the director acknowledging that they were incompatible as performers.
17:35As two of the most recognizable actors in the world, you'd expect that there would
17:40be a little healthy competition between Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise.
17:44Even so, they combined their powers to make 1994's Oscar-nominated Interview with the
17:49Vampire, which is generally considered one of the best vampire films of all time.
17:54Yet, while Pitt's Lewis and Cruise's Lestat were blood brothers on screen, it doesn't
17:59appear like the same sentiment was shared when the cameras stopped rolling.
18:04Pitt has gone on record to discuss how generally unhappy he was during the shoot for the movie,
18:08but it also wasn't helped by his co-star.
18:11According to Radar Online, Pitt supposedly said,
18:14"'He bugs me.
18:16There came a point during filming when I started really resenting him.
18:19He's North Pole, I'm South.
18:21He's always coming at you with a handshake, whereas I may bump into you.
18:25There was this underlying competition that got in the way of any real conversation."
18:29Before Pitt and Cruise wrapped up Interview with the Vampire, there was a point when the
18:34former tried to depart the project before finding out the financial impact it would
18:38have.
18:39In the end, he stayed on, but he and Cruise have largely remained out of each other's
18:44orbit since then.
18:46Bill Murray and Harold Ramis are best known for playing Peter Venkman and Egon Spengler
18:51in the Ghostbusters movies, but the two teamed up for many other projects as well.
18:56As a writer and director, Ramis often turned to Murray for his films since they were close
19:01friends and worked well together.
19:02Not surprisingly, he cast Murray in the lead role of TV weatherman Phil Connors in the
19:071993 comedy Groundhog Day.
19:09However, the movie created a rift between the two friends that lasted for two decades.
19:15The problems started when Murray and Ramis had disagreements about the creative direction
19:19of the film.
19:20This resulted in tension between the two on set, which also affected their personal relationship.
19:25Discussing the production with The New Yorker, Ramis said,
19:29At times, Bill was just really irrationally mean and unavailable.
19:33He was constantly late on set.
19:35What I'd want to say to him is just what we tell our children.
19:38You don't have to throw tantrums to get what you want.
19:41Just say what you want."
19:42Ramis said that Murray simply stopped speaking to him after Groundhog Day.
19:47In her book, Ghostbusters Daughter, Life with My Dad, Harold Ramis, Violet Ramis revealed
19:52that Murray and her father did manage to reconcile before Harold's death in 2014.
19:57I thought you might turn up.
19:59Whenever Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill team up for a movie, it should be expected that it
20:04won't be PG-13.
20:05In 2013's This Is the End, they amped up the raunchy humor and got wild with a lot
20:10of their pals, including actors like Danny McBride and Channing Tatum.
20:15Emma Watson also cameoed in the film, but there was one scene that proved to be too
20:19much for her, so she departed the set.
20:22According to an extra who spoke to PopFocal, Watson wasn't a big fan of a scene in which
20:27Tatum was dressed in only a leather thong.
20:29The source explained,
20:31"...during the scene, Channing decided to do some of his breakdancing in front of her,
20:35but alas, he was in nothing but a thong.
20:37So Emma storms off set."
20:39Reportedly, Watson also wasn't impressed that Tatum had been drinking before filming
20:44the scene.
20:45Rogen was asked about the incident in a later interview with GQ.
20:49The actor confirmed that it did happen, but stressed that there was no bad vibe between
20:53them and Watson even promoted the movie.
20:56Whether or not that bad blood is really there, it seems unlikely we'll ever see the two share
21:01a screen again.
21:03One of the most infamous feuds in Hollywood involves Sex and the City co-stars Kim Cattrall
21:08and Sarah Jessica Parker.
21:10While the two might have starred in a television show that will go down in history for what
21:13it did for the medium, the tension between the actors manifested for the longest time,
21:18with Cattrall reportedly ostracized from the rest of the cast.
21:22Still, the ladies put aside whatever animosity they had to film the movies after the show
21:27had ended.
21:28When we're not doing that, the show, we just really don't want to see each other.
21:32When Cattrall decided she was done with the character and wasn't interested in returning
21:36for a third film, the gloves were off.
21:38After she posted about the death of her brother on Instagram, Parker reached out to offer
21:42her sympathy.
21:44However, Cattrall responded with a public call-out on Instagram, writing,
21:48Your continuous reaching out is a painful reminder of how cruel you really were then
21:53and now.
21:54Let me make this very clear, if I haven't already.
21:57You were not my family.
21:59You were not my friend.
22:00So I'm writing to tell you one last time to stop exploiting our tragedy in order to restore
22:06your nice-girl persona.
22:08A revival of Sex and the City, titled And Just Like That, premiered in 2021, but Cattrall
22:13wasn't approached to reprise her role, nor did her castmates expect her to.
22:18However, she did return for a cameo in season two, though she didn't interact with the rest
22:23of the cast.
22:25After lighting up the early 2000s with memorable roles in fan-favorite films such as Freaky
22:30Friday and Mean Girls, Lindsay Lohan hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons toward
22:35the end of the decade.
22:36Wherever she went, controversy seemed to follow, and Lohan became known more for her escapades
22:42than her on-screen performances.
22:44In 2008, she showed up as Kimmy Keegan in four episodes of Ugly Betty, one of the most
22:50popular shows on TV at the time.
22:52Lohan was scheduled to perform in six episodes, but her appearances were cut down to four.
22:57As per Page Six, the reason for this change was reportedly due to Lohan's behavior, which
23:02rubbed Ugly Betty star America Ferreira the wrong way.
23:06The publication shared claims from an on-set insider, who alleged that Lohan acted like
23:11a diva on set and exhibited bizarre behavior whenever she was around.
23:15However, an unnamed friend of Lohan argued against these allegations, stating,
23:21"'America' was mean to Lindsay.
23:23Producers give her too much power.
23:25Lindsay didn't do the last two episodes because America didn't like her and got her kicked
23:29off."
23:30I would really, really like to help you.
23:34It's just, you know, there aren't really any openings here."
23:37Whatever the case may be, it's clear these two would not be working together again.
23:43At the height of their popularity, both Marlon Brando and Val Kilmer had to deal with accusations
23:49of being divas on set.
23:50Putting them together in a movie where both wrestled for the title of top dog was always
23:55going to be interesting.
23:57Much has been documented about the 1996's The Island of Dr. Moreau, and it appears that
24:02the stars didn't do much to help.
24:04It was a troubled production in which director Richard Stanley was removed after just a few
24:09days on set.
24:11His replacement, John Frankenheimer, told Entertainment Weekly,
24:14"'I don't like Val Kilmer.
24:16I don't like his work ethic, and I don't want to be associated with him ever again.'"
24:20Allegedly, Brando wasn't a fan of Kilmer either, and he reportedly told the younger star,
24:26"'Your problem is, you confuse your talent with the size of your paycheck.'"
24:31According to the sources, Kilmer was continuously late to set, a habit Brando later picked up.
24:37The production lost almost two weeks' worth of shooting as a result.
24:40In a Reddit AMA session years later, Kilmer praised his time working with Brando, and
24:45was only complimentary of him as a performer and person.
24:48The Batman Forever actor suggested that most of the publicized issues surrounding The Island
24:53of Dr. Moreau were a result of the executives and director trying to save face and divert
24:59attention elsewhere.
25:01Shirley MacLaine and Anthony Hopkins are widely regarded as two of the finest actors of their
25:06generation, and perhaps even of all time.
25:09They have dazzled audiences with countless awe-inspiring performances throughout the
25:13decades, and they even collaborated in the 1980 comedy-drama A Change of Seasons.
25:19Unfortunately, their team-up wasn't as successful as some might have imagined.
25:23The film received the kind of nominations no performer ever dreams of, Razzie nominations.
25:28Hopkins apparently wasn't too impressed by his co-star, referring to MacLaine as, quote,
25:33"...the most obnoxious actor."
25:35MacLaine responded to his retort in a 2014 interview with the New York Post, saying,
25:40"...I didn't like him either.
25:41But he was on the wagon at the time and it was hard on him."
25:45MacLaine and Hopkins have avoided sharing the screen since then.
25:48Rumors about a beef between Vin Diesel and The Fate of the Furious co-star Dwayne Johnson
25:53turned out to be 100 percent true.
25:56It all kicked off when Johnson took to social media to slam an anonymous co-star during
26:00the last week of filming, saying, in a since-deleted Instagram caption,
26:04"...my female co-stars are always amazing and I love em.
26:07My male co-stars, however, are a different story.
26:11Some conduct themselves as stand-up men and true professionals, while others don't.
26:15The ones that don't are too chicken s---- to do anything about it anyway.
26:19Candy asses."
26:21Johnson later confirmed that he was indeed talking about Diesel, who was reportedly late
26:25to set on a regular basis.
26:28Johnson later told Rolling Stone,
26:29"...Vin and I had a few discussions, including an important face-to-face in my trailer.
26:34We have a fundamental difference in philosophies on how we approach moviemaking and collaborating.
26:39I wish him all the best and I harbor no ill will there, just because of the clarity we
26:43have."
26:44Actually, you can erase that last part about no ill will.
26:47We'll just keep it with the clarity.
26:48When the film came out, some suggested the pair's scenes were shot to hide the fact that
26:52they weren't even together on the set.
26:55Johnson confirmed, saying,
26:56"...that is correct.
26:57We were not in any scenes together."
26:58"...and will you ever film a scene with him again?"
27:01"...you gotta plead the fifth on that."
27:04Audiences fell hard for 2004's The Notebook, but according to the director, the drama sometimes
27:09continued after he yelled,
27:11"...cut!"
27:12Co-stars Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling apparently clashed in front of the entire crew.
27:17Nick Cassavetes told VH1,
27:18"...they were really not getting along one day on set.
27:21Gosling came to me and there's 150 people standing in this big scene and he says, would
27:26you take her out of here and bring in another actress to read off-camera with me?
27:30I can't.
27:31I can't do it with her.
27:32I'm just not getting anything from this."
27:34"...now I hate you."
27:36Producers called a clear-the-air meeting after Gosling refused to shoot the big scene with
27:40McAdams, and it got off to a rocky start.
27:42The director explained,
27:44"...they started screaming and yelling at each other.
27:46They had it out.
27:47I think Ryan respected her for standing up for her character and Rachel was happy to
27:51get that out in the open."
27:52The rest of the film wasn't smooth sailing, but it was smoother sailing.
27:57The two actors ended up dating for a couple of years after wrapping The Notebook.
28:01Back in the early 90s, Mark Wahlberg was better known as Marky Mark, the frontman of Marky
28:05Mark and the Funky Bunch.
28:07He wasn't taken very seriously in Hollywood, and when Leonardo DiCaprio found out that
28:11Marky Mark was being considered for a role in The Basketball Diaries, he apparently freaked
28:16out.
28:17Wahlberg told The Hollywood Reporter,
28:19"...Leonardo was like, over my dead f----- body, Marky Mark's not going to be in this
28:23f----- movie.
28:24I was a bit of a d---- to him at a charity basketball game.
28:27So he was like, this f----- a----- is not going to be in this movie."
28:31According to Wahlberg, he and DiCaprio both had, quote, a specific opinion about each
28:35other prior to meeting, but that all went out the window as soon as they got to work.
28:40Wahlberg told Extra,
28:41"...Once I finally got to the point where I was able to audition and read with him, then
28:45we just both kind of looked at each other, we were like, wow!
28:48We were literally out that night and we became fast friends."
28:52The crime epic The Irishman was a grand reunion of Hollywood legends, but Mickey Rourke wasn't
28:57invited.
28:58According to Page Six, he claimed on an Italian TV show that he was in line for a part in
29:03the film, until one of the stars stepped in and put the blocks on him.
29:07Rourke admitted that his problems with Robert De Niro began in 1987, when they appeared
29:12opposite one another in the psychological horror movie Angel Heart.
29:16Rourke grew up idolizing De Niro, but his opinion changed after he introduced himself
29:20on set.
29:21He revealed,
29:22"...About five minutes later, De Niro comes over.
29:24He said, I think it's better if we don't talk because of our characters in the movie.
29:28It's better if we don't say hello, talk, or anything.
29:31It hurt my feelings a little bit, because I looked up to him."
29:34Producers denied his claims in a statement, saying,
29:36"...Mickey Rourke was never asked to be in The Irishman, nor was he ever even thought
29:41of, discussed, or considered to be in the movie."
29:44Former NCIS star Polly Perrette has revealed that she'll never return to the CBS procedural
29:49because she's scared of former colleague Mark Harmon.
29:52She admitted,
29:53"...I am terrified of Harmon and him attacking me.
29:55I have nightmares about it."
29:57Perrette didn't go into specifics about why she was so scared of Harmon, claiming that
30:01there was a, quote, "...very powerful publicity machine keeping her quiet."
30:05She did, however, seem to confirm that she was subjected to violence during her time
30:09on the show, tweeting,
30:11"...I've been supporting anti-bullying programs forever, but now I know because it was me.
30:16If it's school or work that you're required to go to, it's horrifying.
30:20I left.
30:21Multiple physical assaults.
30:22I really get it now."
30:24According to Vanity Fair, the two actors started shooting on different days to avoid contact
30:29with one another before Perrette's departure.
