Both BJP's Rajyavardhan Rathore and Congress party's P Chidambaram spoke on the Agnipath scheme. Who makes the better argument?

01:40Merely because he becomes an ex-serviceman after four years,

01:44there's no guarantee he will join the CRPF or the state police force.

01:48They require a different frame of mind, a very different frame of mind.

01:53And best of my knowledge, an army soldier is trained to shoot to kill the enemy.

02:03A police is not trained to shoot to kill.

02:06It's a different matter. Some of the guys do that.

02:09But that's not the way the police is trained.

02:11They have very different trainings.

02:13All these are simplistic solutions they are suggesting without thinking through the whole matter.

02:33And I have not seen the math.

02:48Somebody must work out the mathematics and say,

02:52giving these young men 11.5 lakh at the end of four years

02:59is more economical than giving them a pension.

03:03I don't know. We have to see the mathematics.

03:06It has not been published. Nobody has shared it with the country.

03:09Therefore, if there is a problem with the burgeoning pension bill,

03:14that has to be addressed.

03:16But you can't address it in a manner that you become, as I said,

03:21penny wise but security foolish.
