00:00This is where Dior drew inspiration for its Fall 2023 collection presented in Mumbai, India on March 30th.

00:06I want to celebrate this important relationship that I have with the country.

00:12The Indian influence runs all throughout the collection.

00:16First off, you can see here, long, narrow dresses that draw their vertical lines from Indian sarees and tunics.

00:22You can also see here, the use of toile de jouy, which traces its history back to India.

00:27Actually, this fabric is directly inspired by cotton from India, which used to be called Andiyan.

00:32In this collection, Maria Grazia Chiuri presents them with tigers, peacocks and banyan trees.

00:37The narrow neckline is another nod to Indian culture.

00:40It takes its name from the first Prime Minister of India after independence, Jawaharlal Nehru.

00:44You see it here, on the bar jacket, the legendary piece from the first Christian Dior collection.

00:49Characterized by its cinched waist and accentuated hips,

00:53the various pieces were embroidered in collaboration with the Chanakya School in Mumbai.

00:57These colored sequins inspired by Bollywood on the back of this jacket read,

01:02The motto accurately reflects the rich cultural dialogue between France and India.
