00:31Meera Kapoor recently sat down with principal perfumer Ilyas Armenidis,

00:35the man behind the brand's latest Nora range, to understand their inspiration.

00:39They both are inspired by flowers that are loved by Indian women.

00:44One is jasmine and tuberose, and we put the sexy with ambrox,

00:48and then the other one is rose and ilang-ilang, and we put the sexy through musk.

00:54But what exactly makes a perfume special?

00:57Rule number one, it has to smell good.

00:59But then you have many parameters that make a fragrance a success.

01:05It has to have sillage, aura.

01:07It has to have diffusion.

01:09It has to have projection.

01:11Is it art?

01:12Is it chemistry?

01:13What is it?

01:14Definitely agriculture and chemistry.

01:19But also, we discuss creative process,

01:20and I always say that I feel like an artist in residence.

01:24So, the answer is, it's alchemy.
