For years, Texas governor Greg Abbott (R) has been loosening gun restrictions ...   Now, the state has witnessed one of the deadliest school shootings in the country's history.

00:00God, guns, and Greg. That is what Texas stands for.

00:06As long as I'm the governor of Texas, your right to keep and bear arms will never be infringed.

00:19Almost the minute that Barack Obama issued his executive order trying to rewrite the

00:24Second Amendment, at that time I posted a picture from the governor's office holding

00:30a gun that someone had just given to me that had on it the 48th governor of the state of

00:36Texas. Well, I told the guys at the time because it's the type of gun that I said is perfect

00:43just to put in your boot. And they said, darn right.

00:47In Texas, we are expanding gun rights. I authorized concealed handgun reciprocity agreements

00:56for 22 more states. And as governor, I signed a law making Texas an open carry state.

01:03We now have well over 100 school districts in the state of Texas where teachers or other

01:12people who work in the school do carry a weapon.

01:17Politicians from the federal level to the local level have shouted, heck yes, the government

01:24is coming to get your guns. We won't let that happen in Texas.

01:30You could say that I signed into law today some laws that protect gun rights. But today,

01:46I signed documents that instilled freedom in the Lone Star State.

01:52Those who believe and support Second Amendment rights, we support the right of every law-abiding

01:59American to be able to have a weapon to defend themselves. That is different from teenagers

02:05unlawfully getting access to guns to commit crime.

02:08When we passed open carry and campus carry, people said it's going to be the OK Corral.

02:13None of that happened. And so I don't think there's going to be any bad side effect to it.

02:19I have signed more than 20 laws to protect your Second Amendment rights, including making

02:26Texas a constitutional carry state, and including making Texas a Second Amendment sanctuary

02:34state, preventing Joe Biden coming in and taking your guns.

02:38So Beto, he told you he's going to come and take your guns. That is not going to happen in Texas.

02:49We have God-given rights, and included in those God-given rights is the right to self-defense.

02:57Remind me, what comes after the First Amendment?

03:02And you know that Beto has threatened to come and take your guns.

03:09There you go. This woman right here said out of her cold, dead hands.

03:14I've got news for you. Your hands are not going to be dead. They're not going to be cold.
