00:05Now we are on a conventional field.

00:08You see that it's more compact than the one we had in the forest.

00:12And the goal is to get the same kind of soil in our fields than in the forest.

00:23This is in fact a simple way to show the health of the soil.

00:29This is a soil coming from the conventional agriculture.

00:32Then this is a soil, a more generative soil.

00:35And here, this is a soil from the forest.

00:40It's quite crazy.

00:42I wouldn't expect such a difference between those two.

00:45This sample is just degrading rapidly.

00:48And here you have a good stability.

00:50It's because of the content of carbon into the soil.

00:54It's like a glue in the soil.

00:57The forest soil is the best one.

00:59We never touched it.

01:00We want the soil to stay together.

01:02That's why it is important to have a soil like this one, with carbon in it.

01:07With this one you see there is no more soil, so no more food.

01:22The objective is to regenerate the soil and the life of the soil.

01:28The farmer is actually the solution against climate change.

02:54As far as I know, my father's family has always been against climate change.

03:24They have been farmers and it was a conventional farming, so they started to become more industrialized.

03:31They bought tractors, they started to use chemicals.

03:34When my mother passed away in 2007, my father stopped taking care of the farm as before.

03:42He didn't really care about the buildings and stuff like that.

03:46We really felt that something changed at that time.

04:03So my hope for the future of my farm, I want to leave a soil that is good for the next

04:11generation, for my children, to give them the opportunity to work with it, to have food

04:17from it, in autonomy, to have a good life.
