The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is coming back …

00:00The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is returning after a four-year hiatus,
00:04but we need to talk about why the once-famed show was cancelled.
00:07Chief Financial Officer Timothy Johnson shared during a 2022 earnings call that
00:11the lingerie brand is looking to revamp their annual fashion show. In 2019,
00:15the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show was cancelled due to sexual misconduct
00:18allegations against their former Chief Marketing Officer Edward Rozek.
00:22He particularly sparked backlash after he told Vogue that transgender and plus-size
00:26models should not be cast because quote the show is a fantasy.
00:29The 2022 docu-series Victoria's Secret Angels and Demons further expanded on the
00:33company's lack of inclusivity as well as history of misogyny and body shaming.
00:37Lizzo, who has her own line of size-inclusive shapewear,
00:40tweeted that the return of the show is a quote win for inclusivity for inclusivity's sake,
00:45but question if it's just a move to drive profits.
00:47The new version Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is set to return later this year,
00:51but execs have yet to share what will make it different from previous shows.
