00:09Two years ago, I won this primary with 73% of the vote.

00:14I could easily have done the same again. The path was clear.

00:20But it would have required that I go along with President Trump's lie about the 2020 election.

00:25It would have required that I enable his ongoing efforts to unravel our democratic system and attack the foundations of our republic.

00:34That was a path I could not and would not take.

00:39Many political pundits are saying that Cheney's loss further signified that Trump still maintains a strong control over the Republican Party.

00:46Trump's picks have seen success in several races, including Senate primaries in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

00:51His choices also had clean sweeps in Arizona and Michigan, both of which are swing states.
