Constance Wu, who recently opened up about the alleged sexual harassment she experienced while filming “Fresh Off the Boat,” explains why didn’t speak out sooner.

00:17In her memoir, Making a Scene, Wu addresses the backlash she faced in 2019

00:21after she took to Twitter to express frustration over Fresh Off the Boat being renewed for another

00:25season. At the time, she said she was upset because it meant she had to turn down a passion

00:29project. Now she has revealed the real reason was because a senior producer sexually harassed her

00:33during the first two seasons of the sitcom. This past July, Wu returned to social media

00:37after nearly three years to announce her book and shared that she attempted suicide following

00:41the backlash over the tweets. And more recently, she opened up about why she didn't speak up sooner.

00:51Asian American man who was doing all this better work for the community.

00:55Wu is set to appear on Red Table Talk this week, in which she will discuss the allegations further.
