00:04principal cast of the first two seasons of the HBO series, playing Kat, a high schooler who

00:09struggles with her body image. After season 2 aired last year, rumors spread that Ferreira's

00:13lack of screen time was due to a conflict between her and the show's creator Sam Levinson. A few

00:18months later she announced in an Instagram statement that she would not be returning

00:21for season 3, further amplifying speculation. I think it was a mutual decision. I think my

00:26character, who I love so dearly, I don't think there was a place for her to go. And I think both

00:32parties knew that. Ferreira explained that even in season 2, she and Levinson struggled to find

00:37a continuation for her. She said that Levinson writes for things he relates to, and she doesn't

00:41believe that he can relate to Kat.
