00:00Roger Federer gave an emotional message to his long-time rival and friend Rafael Nadal

00:07following his retirement from the world of tennis.

00:11In Federer's social media post, he brought back their historic matches.

00:16He was forced to change his playing techniques, including adjusting the size of his racket

00:22in order to find an advantage against Nadal.

00:26Throughout their career, they faced Federer and Nadal in more than 40 matches

00:32of which 24 matches were won by the Spanish tennis legend.

00:38One of the most memorable matches of the two was the 2008 Wimbledon Finals

00:44which is considered to be one of the most memorable matches in the world of tennis.

00:49Federer also thanked Nadal's family and friends who became an important part of the success of the tennis icon.
