00:00Vice President Sara Duterte has no plans to leave the camera where her chief of staff is detained.
00:07IAN CRUZ has a report.
00:12Last night, Vice President Sara Duterte was in the House of Representatives.
00:16She allowed her chief of staff, Atty. Sulaica Lopez, to stay in the detention facility of the camera.
00:22She was contempted because of this letter to the Commission on Audit
00:26that the camera should not follow the audit reports of the COA
00:31in accordance with the investigation of the confidential funds of the OVP and DepEd.
00:36When Lopez returned to the detention facility,
00:39Vice President Sara went straight to the office of her brother, Rep. Paulo Duterte.
00:45Around 11.30 p.m. last night, the House Surgeon-at-Arms presented the protocol and security of the vice president.
00:51If they could possibly already leave the premises as there is always a practice during long weekends
00:59that we turn off power in all our buildings.
01:03But the vice president did not leave.
01:05Rep. Joel Chua, Chair of the House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability, said
01:12Duterte asked her to allow Lopez to stay in her detention facility until November 25.
01:19The committee did not allow it, but only her permission.
01:24First of all, she is not part of the prison.
01:30You can come tomorrow. Just don't stay here tonight.
01:35We need to double the security because this is our second visit.
01:40The committee also denied the request of Rep. Paulo Duterte to transfer Lopez to his position.
01:47The committee also denied the request of Rep. Sara to their hearings.
01:52Lack of respect in the institution.
01:55We can see that if she wants something, she will do it.
02:06At the press conference this evening, Rep. Sara,
02:11House Speaker Martin Robaldez and members of the committee asked why she did not attend the hearings.
02:18Why would I answer to a speaker implicated in a bribery case, on record, in a court case?
02:26Why would I answer to a member, until now I don't know why this is a member of the House of Representatives,
02:34convicted of child abuse, taking IP children to Davao City to be brought to Manila?
02:42Why would I answer to a member of the House of Representatives who owes my husband P9 million because of a case?
02:56So why would I answer to them?
02:59Why would I answer to a member of the House of Representatives whose father, whose screen cap I have,
03:08is apologizing for what his son is doing?
03:11In addition, she plans to accompany Lopez to the detention center and other staff of the OVP
03:18who will be arrested by the camera until the new year.
03:23I asked them to buy me a tie because this is where I will wash and dry my clothes.
03:30I brought a lot of T-shirts.
03:32She said it's not a security problem because she has her own security.
03:37I said, sir, Martin Robaldez is the only one who wants to kill me.
03:42I don't think he will do it here inside the House of Representatives. He will do it outside.
03:48VP Sara also said that her cases are ready against some members of the 19th Congress
03:54as well as questioning the constitutionality of the hearings about her.
03:59But she is not yet fully committed that she will now appear in the Supreme Court.
04:04Ian Cruz reporting for GMA Integrated News.
