Great Barrier Reef coral spawning gets a helping hand

00:00We were out diving until about 11 o'clock last night looking at the coral spawning

00:04and we were lucky enough to see some of the species spawning.

00:07Not all of them but we saw the soft corals and they filled up the water with bundles of eggs

00:12and sperm which was really spectacular and we also saw a couple of colonies of boulder coral

00:18spawning which makes them look like they're smoking and they also release a few bundles

00:22of eggs as well so really impressive. We're waiting to see what tonight holds and also

00:28what the next full moon will hold in terms of the spawning but it was really exciting

00:32to see some action happening.
