00:00As part of the contribution of renewable energy to the country,

00:03President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr. led the groundbreaking ceremony

00:08of the largest solar power plant and battery storage facility in the world.

00:13It will help to reduce the cost of electricity for Meranco customers.

00:233,500 hectares of land, Nueva Ecija and Bulacan,

00:31President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr. led the groundbreaking ceremony of this facility.

00:35Now that the time capsule has been sealed,

00:43the President shall lower the time capsule.

00:47In full swing is the 200 million peso project of Meranco Power Gen Corporation

00:51and Terra Solar Philippines Incorporated.

00:54This is in line with the President's desire to promote renewable energy to the country.

01:08The project will be divided into two phases.

01:10In February 2026, the 2,400 megawatt solar farm will be opened

01:14and an additional 1,000 megawatts in February 2027.

01:24Once completed, it will be able to generate 3,500 megawatts from its 5 billion panels.

01:48According to the President and CEO, Manuel Rubio,

01:52because the power generation cost will be lowered,

01:54it is also possible for Meranco to lower its cost to its customers.

02:11It will also be able to provide 10,000 jobs to Filipinos

02:14while reducing 4.3 million tons of carbon emissions per year.

02:22This is a powerful and reliable power supply that will meet the demands of today

02:26and continuously fuel our ambitions for tomorrow.

02:31We will build, we will take action, and we will never stop daring.
