Denzel Washington is getting real about his battle with alcohol, admitting his wine consumption ravaged his body.

00:3510,000 bottle wine cellar and I learned to drink the best wine was my thing and now I was popping

00:44I'd call Gil Turner's fine wines and spirits on Sunset Boulevard by the way

00:48I lived a block from there shout out to Gil Turner's and say send me two bottles and my wife would be saying

00:54Why do you keep ordering just two I said because if I order more, I'll drink more

00:58He said he would have at least two you would have two bottles a day. How can you do now?

01:03And he would how can you function he would do that when he wasn't shooting movies?

01:07So he said he'd do that for a few months and then go shoot a movie

01:11He would stop and then soon as the movie is over. He'd go back to it

01:17He knew that at a point. This was too much. It was a problem

01:20He says in December. He will be celebrating a big milestone for his sobriety

01:25Ten years ten years ten years that he has completely stopped drinking. He said he cut out the stuff completely

01:32Hangovers really played a big role in this he got tired of having to take so long to recover

01:37I think we've talked about it on the show the older you get the harder it is to recover from

01:40Long nights of drinking two bottles of wine. I can only imagine that hangover

01:44So yeah, and he said he noticed like his physical body was just changing and he knew that he was getting older

01:50Denzel 69 now, so he said he needed to just do better

01:54He also said that back in the day. He shot up dope, which is I'm pretty sure heroin

01:58So, but you know what? A lot of people are saying that's not a big surprise

02:01He was a rich man and the 80s were drugs were heavily, you know filtered through the streets

02:06So that's not a big surprise that he did that but a lot of people are also saying where is all this coming from Denzel?
