Here’s a comforting prayer for a sick child

00:00Flu and cold season are finally upon us.

00:06We had our first round of colds run through our house last week.

00:09And if you're a parent, you know how hard it is to see your children sick.

00:13I feel like anytime my son is sick, I'm always telling my husband how I just wish I could

00:17be sick instead of him.

00:18Well, I found a prayer that pretty much channels all that energy.

00:22So this little book is called The Original Mother's Manual, and it is a little gold mine.

00:28It has prayers for literally anything you as a mother could think of, regardless of

00:33if you're a new mother, an old mother, like it covers everything.

00:37Just look at some of these options for prayers.

00:41Here's the one I want for a sick child.

00:44Dearest mother, how helpless I feel in the presence of my ailing child.

00:49No labor of my hands or sacrifice of my energy can restore it quickly to help.

00:54And yet my heart yearns to do something for my child.

00:57So to you, I turn, dear mother, consoler of the afflicted and health of the sick.

01:03Show your loving protection once more, and as my child was blessed in my womb and at

01:07its birth, so intercede for it now that God may restore its health of body.

01:13I renew the consecration of my child to you forever, most cherished mother.

01:18In sickness and in health, may it be always yours.
