Sylvester Stallone compared Donald Trump to his famous character Rocky Balboa, saying he's in awe of the president-elect's victory in the 2024 election and labeling him a mythical figure.

00:00Donald Trump had a big gala at Mar-a-Lago last night,

00:06and there were a lot of people,

00:07there were a lot of people that he wants in his cabinet,

00:11and also a big movie star who actually is his neighbor,

00:15and this surprised me some.

00:18It was Sylvester Stallone,

00:20and Sylvester Stallone gave a 60 second speech

00:26that was just effusive about Donald Trump.

00:30Yeah, and made some comparisons that I'm not sure work,

00:36but this is how Sly sees it, and we'll break it down.

00:40When I did Rocky, if you remember,

00:43the first image was a picture of Jesus.

00:45So the image pans down from Jesus onto Rocky being hit,

00:50and at that moment, he was a chosen person,

00:53and that's how I began the journey.

00:56Something was gonna happen,

00:57this man was gonna go through a metamorphosis

00:59and change lives, just like President Trump.

01:04We are in the presence of a really mythical character.

01:08I love mythology,

01:10and this individual does not exist on this planet.

01:13Nobody in the world could have pulled off

01:15what he pulled off, so I'm in awe.

01:17When George Washington defended his country,

01:21he had no idea that he was gonna change the world,

01:25because without him, you could imagine

01:28what the world would look like.

01:29Guess what?

01:30We got the second George Washington, congratulations!

01:33Wow.

01:36I'm stunned by this, because-

01:37Serious hype right there.

01:39I have never heard him as a political person,

01:44and I've been around a long time.

01:45I've been around as long as Sly,

01:47and he's never ventured into politics this way.

01:50I don't think it's ever been a secret that he's conservative,

01:52but you're right, we've never seen him

01:54campaigning for people.

01:57We knew that he, like Donald Trump,

02:00I know he'd been to visit him at the White House

02:01a couple of times when he was in office,

02:04but we've never seen him out campaigning,

02:07and this was-

02:08By the way, I didn't even remember that

02:10until we showed it, but boy, he is all in.

02:14And by the way, his neighbor,

02:16he and Jennifer Flavin and the kids,

02:18they moved from LA to West Palm Beach

02:21a couple of years ago, so they are literally neighbors.

02:25Yeah, and moving to Florida at the time

02:27was somewhat of a political statement.

02:28A lot of people left California to move to Florida.

02:30They did it for some political reasons,

02:32some other economic reasons as well,

02:34but I was with him on the underdog story,

02:36the rocky comparison makes sense on a certain level.

02:40George Washington is the founding father of this nation.

02:43To call Donald Trump the second George Washington,

02:46they don't really share many qualities.

02:48George Washington didn't tell a lie.

02:50George Washington famously stepped away after a second term.

02:53This guy didn't even wanna leave after his first.

02:55It's a strained comparison.

02:56It is a strained comparison,

02:59but it is just really fascinating how this,

03:03and look, I think part of this,

03:05one of the reasons that it's resonating that way

03:09is because the media was so off in painting a narrative

03:14of how this election was gonna unfold.

03:17Also, what's kind of interesting is,

03:18and now I'm wondering about what Sly Stallone

03:21thought about it, Kamala Harris's last stand,

03:24the last campaign event she had

03:27was on the Rocky Steps in Philly.

03:29So that's just kind of interesting.

03:31You wonder how that landed with him.

03:33I wonder if that's what made him say,

03:34you know what, I am gonna speak out.

03:36That's what I was thinking.

03:36I mean, I actually thought about that.

03:43or George Washington is really far-fetched.

03:45Both of those men, whether a character or in real life,

03:49fought for the underdog.

03:52They fought for the person that needed them the most.

03:55I don't see Donald Trump in that perspective at all.

03:57And coming to this election,

03:59a lot of people were worried about him winning

04:02because everybody felt like his campaign was longer

04:06and Kamala Harris had a short start to hers.

04:08So I think people are a little delusional

04:11when they try to compare him to characters

04:13or even a president such as George Washington

04:16with such a great history for this country.

04:18Yeah, I think there's gonna be a split

04:20right down the middle on this one.

04:22Speaking of the shindig that they had,

04:25there were two interesting people there.

04:27Exactly, one of Donald Trump's cabinet nominees,

04:30RFK Jr., who has been nominated

04:33for the Health and Human Services Secretary,

04:36but more-

04:37More important.

04:38Well, I don't know if importantly, but-

04:39Well, everybody's talking about this

04:41because everybody thought-

04:42You see Sheryl Hines-

04:43What's going on with the marriage?

04:45Yeah, you see his wife Sheryl Hines was there

04:47and happy and celebrating his nomination.

04:52Seeming like she's all on board.

04:54So you gotta remember,

04:55you gotta remember what's going on here.

04:57We had both of them on TMZ Live a while back

05:02and even asked about, specifically,

05:05when he was being considered for vice president-

05:07For Trump.

05:08Yeah, for his nominee. For Trump.

05:09She seemed very iffy on the whole thing.

05:13I wouldn't say iffy.

05:14Listen to this.

05:19whether you would accept a position on the ticket

05:25if Trump asked you,

05:26and I think your response was,

05:29that would be devastating to my marriage.

05:31So now we got the two of you here.

05:35I think Bobby knows me very well.

05:42And that's also why he's not saying anything right now.

05:54of the Department of Health and Human Services-

05:56Well, there's a confirmation hearing, yeah.

05:59but assuming he gets that role,

06:01she's now a part of that administration

06:03that's gonna have real consequences

06:04on her friendships in Hollywood.

06:05It just will.

06:06I think people will turn their back on her.

06:08It's one thing to endorse President Trump

06:10and help him get elected.

06:10It's another thing to be part of his administration.

06:13I think that will have consequences.

06:14Well, I mean, she had not been,

06:16while RFK was campaigning with Trump,

06:19Cheryl wasn't.

06:20Cheryl wasn't.

06:21And so she could have been keeping it at arm's length.

06:23But here's what Cheryl was.

06:25That we found out that the day after the election,

06:29RFK Jr. went to Mar-a-Lago to meet with Trump

06:33and that's when he offered RFK Jr.

06:37the position.

06:39She was there.

06:40She went with him.

06:41Cheryl was there.

06:42She went with him to Mar-a-Lago on that trip.

06:45So I don't think there is that kind of ambivalence

06:50that we saw before.
