The PGMOL have suspended referee David Coote over videos that have surfaced online in which he criticises Liverpool Football Club, and speaks of their then manager Jurgen Klopp in a derogatory manner. Daniel Wales reports.

00:13showed Coote criticising Liverpool Football Club before speaking of their then-manager

00:17Jurgen Klopp in a derogatory manner. Coote then expressed his wish that the videos could

00:22not go anywhere. Since they were made public, the PGMOL made clear that Coote has been suspended,

00:29with the FA now confirming that an investigation has been launched. The second man in the videos

00:35appeared to support Coote when the referee asked for the videos not to be shared, but

00:39now they have come to light and created a huge headache for the refereeing body. Liverpool,

00:45the club Coote openly criticised, have not commented on the situation, nor have the PGMOL

00:50or FA beyond the announcement of the suspension and investigation into Coote's behaviour.
