00:16In me, I almost cover the world with my power.

00:20I can say that I have a good relationship with everyone I know, including humans.

00:33But something has changed.

00:39Despite the help and blessings, you still abused and punished the villagers.

00:50But I will never lose hope.

01:36I have been wandering for a long time.

01:41Even before your people set foot on my land,

01:50I was already here.

02:07From my oceans, I gave you blessings.

02:15Thousands of oceans.

02:21Each one has its own abilities.

02:30Each one has an important part to maintain the balance of life.

02:37But you ignored the richness of the ocean.

02:57You polluted and destroyed it.

02:59Why did you destroy the blessings I gave you, my children?

03:18Before you understand, you are slowly killing my ocean.

03:35As a mother, I take care of all my animals.

03:40My forest is my home.

11:17A mature tree can cool the heat of the moment.

11:27I can say that I have a good relationship with all the creatures,

11:37I am not alone.

11:39I have a friend.

11:41I have a family.

11:43I have friends.

11:44I have people.

11:46But,

11:48something has changed.

11:54Trees were cut down.

11:58Lands were ploughed.

12:03Mountains and caves were built

12:06to expand the land.

12:14But,

12:24my old green color

12:27was replaced by a new one.

12:37Even the animals

12:39are united in a non-violent fight.

12:45But,

12:48instead of being free,

12:51some of them are imprisoned and taken care of.

13:07Who would be happy to tie you up in a chain

13:11and put you in jail?

13:14Hahaha!

13:18Maybe you don't feel the loss of a tree.

13:28But, it's a different story when thousands of trees and plants are gone.

13:38I know that some of you are fighting to protect me.

13:42I know that.

13:44But, they are still small.

13:48I need a bigger help.

13:52My pride is a blessing to you.

13:56In my fall, you are also affected.

14:01But, don't forget that I have been living in this world for a long time.

14:07I can live without people.

14:10But you,

14:12you need me.

14:15Your future depends on me.

14:21And, it depends on the action and decision that you will make.

14:31But, I hope that my good relationship with you people will return.

14:39The Philippines has almost been visited by Born to be Wild

14:44to document different wildlife.

15:00But, there are some provinces that we haven't reached yet.

15:07And now, it's the 17th anniversary of Born to be Wild.

15:12It's time for them to go away.

15:15In our 17 years of documenting wildlife,

15:19I still feel the adrenaline rush when I see critically endangered species.

15:28It's like, maybe next week, they will be gone.

15:33The 17 years of wildlife documentary is not a joke.

15:37Yes, we have learned a lot.

15:39We have discovered and visited a lot of places.

15:41But, of course, we can't stop there.

15:45Because, we can still discover and learn a lot if we choose to save the environment.

15:57Our team's target for today is...

16:04Basilan and Sulu.

16:07When I was informed that my assignment is in Basilan,

16:10mixed emotions.

16:12Number one, excitement because we haven't been here yet.

16:15It's worth it because we were all pleasantly surprised.

16:20I've never been to Sulu.

16:23I don't have any idea what happened after the war.

16:26And, imagine the species of wildlife that has never been documented on film.

16:36These animals are competing for food.

16:39They're competing for their habitat.

16:41They're not just fighting for no reason.

16:45They're actually competing for their survival.

16:48Our endangered wildlife species here in the Philippines,

16:51they can't defend themselves.

16:54That's why we're here.

16:56So that we can be their voice.

16:59We're joined by experts with their own specializations.

17:06And, we've been with them since day one of Born to be Wild.

17:11We hope that Born to be Wild will continue its mission to inform the public

17:17about how important Philippine biodiversity is

17:19and why it should be saved.

17:22You actually go as far as those poorly known individuals

17:26or those least important to look at

17:29and also tackling those stories that hardly people would actually give attention to.

17:36Born to be Wild is the only documentary I've seen in the Philippines

17:41in terms of its storylines on wildlife.

17:44So that people can be educated about wildlife.

17:48For those of you who are the first people to hear

17:52that we have this species of bird that eats fruits.

17:57It's a new discovery.

17:59I think that kind of information is very useful for us.

18:05The information that you're disseminating

18:09adds to our knowledge and helps our information campaign.

18:17But for now,

18:19it's not just the experts that we have with us

18:22in giving their voices to Born to be Wild.

18:27Because even residents and various government agencies

18:32are seriously involved in protecting the environment.

18:39What can help us protect the environment

18:42is not throwing garbage everywhere.

18:44We will collect it and throw it in the right place.

18:50As a Muslim who lives in the province of Sulu

18:54or in the Philippines,

18:56in the Islamic point of view,

18:58even if it's a small life or a big life,

19:00whether it's a life of an animal or a life of a human,

19:03we need to protect and take care of it.

19:05The instance that we saw someone smoking there,

19:09we talked to him and we reported it.

19:12And then we said no to throwing garbage and cutting trees

19:16because the lake will be destroyed.

19:23My promise to nature is to continue to protect

19:29and educate the Filipino people

19:32so that I can continue to shoot in a protected area,

19:40in a deep part of the sea,

19:43so that the wildlife can understand.

19:46Mother Nature, I choose you because you are so beautiful.

19:50I promise Mother Nature that I will do my very best

19:54in all my being to uplift and uphold

19:58and take care of her for as long as I can.

20:01Mother Nature, I choose you because you are the source of our life.
