Courier companies urged to join courier safety passport training programme

Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil urged all courier companies in the country to participate in the Courier Safety Passport Training Programme to further enhance the safety of workers and the efficiency of parcel deliveries.  He said the programme also aims to ensure the safe handling of parcels and to provide necessary skills for courier industry workers to perform their duties effectively. 00:28So far, based on the data from MCMC, more than 160,000 people participated

00:41So this is an important sector, and after the pandemic, we want to ensure that this sector will continue to be sustainable

00:54And the welfare aspect is always a priority for companies

01:01Especially when facing changes in technology and digital aspects, including artificial intelligence

01:12Can you tell us about the safety passports?

01:15Yes, this is an effort from several parties to give pressure to Korean companies

01:26To emphasize safety in the delivery of packages

01:36And after that, customers will be able to make wiser choices

01:44Which we expect will help the Korean sector to self-regulate

01:54Especially to ensure the safety of packages and their employees

01:59So this is an effort that we are proud of and welcome

02:06And we hope that more Korean companies will be involved in the near future

02:11There are 104 lessons

02:14One is the Universal Service Obligation, or POS Malaysia

02:18This is a lesson in which they are obligated to deliver to our country

02:25And there are another 103 lessons

02:28And there are several different classifications for them

02:34But the total number is 104

02:36Some people think this is too high

02:40In fact, according to the MCMC report, 15 of the top lessons

02:47Manage almost 97% of the total number of packages

02:51So this is a situation where in the near future

02:56There will be an openness to provide lessons

03:04And over the past two years, we have reduced the number of passports

03:12Especially for new companies

03:14Because there needs to be a rationalization
