This footage shows cleaners targeting seats on the Tube - and reveals just how much dirt is lurking.  Cleaner Steven James, 55, started posting cleaning videos from “high traffic areas” on his Instagram in 2020 - including a theatre.    The lighthearted content was intended to promote his carpet cleaning business, Mr Carpet Clean, which he has been running for seven years.   Now, the Hertfordshire dad-of-five has gone viral over a clip of him and his team steam cleaning seats on a moving Northern Line tube.

00:00Ladies and gents, this dirty water is what me and the team extracted from a handful of train seats.

00:05Looking grim? Absolutely. Let's go back to the beginning and after a quick pre-spray

00:10and some agitation we got to work on these heavily soiled carriage seats.

00:14As you'll get to see the dirt we're extracting is vast and in my professional opinion

00:19a long-term issue. Is it therapeutic? Of course it is, but in this moment we just want to leave

00:24the seats clean and smelling fresh for the commuters. Lucky for you and me I've assembled

00:30a team of guys dedicated and fully committed to the profession and we are capable of cleaning

00:35the entire train in a two and a half to three hour window. By the way we're doing this on a moving

00:40train so there were some challenges. On a daily basis we clean all carpets and upholstery throughout

00:47London and the home counties as many of you know and the train seats is something that really

00:52intrigues me as to how they could be so filthy. I just had to give it a go to see the results.
