00:00Inflation of basic goods and services in the country remains within the target.

00:06Despite the increase in the prices for the month of October,

00:12according to the National Economic and Development Authority, ONEDA,

00:15it increased by 2.3% this October.

00:20From 1.9% in September,

00:23it is still considered to be stable if it is based on the government's target of 2.0% to 4.0% inflation.

00:31According to the Philippine Statistics Authority, PSA,

00:35the main cause of inflation is the increase in the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages,

00:43especially rice.

00:44Although the increase in the prices of some foods such as vegetables, seafood, meat, chicken, and bananas

00:52the prices of rice and corn are still high,

00:55while the housing sector, water, electricity, and other fuel products are also affected by the increase in inflation.

01:04Meanwhile, according to the ONEDA,

01:06the government's efforts continue to address challenges such as trials and tribulations of the bad times

01:14that also contribute to the increase of the inflation rate in the country.
