00:00So the reason why I decided to make The American Question is for a very simple reason.

00:03When I was growing up, my parents were community builders.

00:06They loved having people around them, that's what was important to them, and that's what's

00:10important to me in life in general.

00:12And so when I was working on the election in 2016, and I was going around the country

00:17and seeing how divisive communities were, it really broke my heart, and I wanted to

00:24research and understand why it was happening and what I could do about it.
