00:00So how do you encourage your kids about going outdoors?

00:03I have a few things that I could share with you in no particular order.

00:07Number one is, and I think this is the most important,

00:10monkey see, monkey do.

00:12So, diba alam na natin yan as parents na whatever we do, our children will copy.

00:18And so if they see even a little bit of discomfort in you in going outdoors,

00:24they will also inherit that.

00:26I think a huge part of like why my kids are game na game,

00:29pag nasa labas kami, is because yung nanay at tatay nila

00:32ang nangunguna sa pagiging masaya when we are outdoors.

00:36And I usually see this as the main problem as well,

00:40because a lot of parents are afraid of discomfort.

00:44And I think it's because lalo na tayo, you know,

00:46we're the generation of yung aircon kids.

00:50Yung nasanay tayo na pinapa-aircon tayo ng mga nanay natin,

00:53di tayo nagagalusan.

00:54Why do I get so many sugats?

00:56You get many sugats because you're so malikot.

00:59Yeah, diba?

01:00So, we have to get over that hump first before we actually expect our children to like it.

01:09Give them a good mix of comfort and challenges.

01:12Kasi syempre, when you go outdoors, agad-agad challenging na yun.

01:15Alam natin yun.

01:16So, bring things that will make it comfortable for them.

01:20So, if they have a favorite.

01:21Blankie food is always, diba kaya kami?

01:24Comfort food, diba?

01:25The number one, syempre, is the parents, no?

01:27But if they have things that make it feel like home to them,

01:31that helps him regulate, especially in newer environments when it feels...

01:36And your books.

01:37Yes, books also.

01:38And last but not the least, I would suggest that you also include them in the planning.

01:44They love it when they know where they're going.

01:46Kids love plans, eh.

01:47I know that it's good to be spontaneous.

01:50I know it's good to train them also to like unpredictable things.
