00:00The DSWD has also provided assistance to the victims of the typhoon in the province of Cagayan.

00:05The situation of the evacuees in the evacuation centers is still under control.

00:11This is Angela Peñalosa of Radyo Pilipinas sa Balitang Pambansa.

00:17The Department of Social Welfare and Development has already provided assistance

00:23to the people of Cagayan Valley who were affected by the typhoon León.

00:26The DSWD Field Office 2 led the distribution of family food packs and sleeping kits

00:32to the town of Sanchez Mira in Cagayan.

00:35In the town of Bagao, the local government also distributed relief goods

00:39to the residents who were evacuated due to the typhoon León.

00:42According to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office Bagao,

00:483,169 individuals from 33 barangays were evacuated due to the typhoon.

00:56In total, more than 8,000 residents in Cagayan were evacuated due to the storm surge.

01:02In a video sent by Radyo Pilipinas in Tagaygarao,

01:06the water level was more than 3 meters high or as high as the first floor of a house.

01:13The video also shows the structure of the house collapsing due to the heavy storm surge in the basin.

01:19The DSWD continued to focus on the situation of the people who were evacuated to evacuation centers

01:26while providing their needs.

01:29Meanwhile, the Department of Public Works and Highways is already on standby

01:33for the immediate implementation of clearing operations in Cagayan Valley.
