00:27and he just sat there like a dum-dum and watched his team blow and that you

00:32know listen I'm part of a team that blew an opportunity to win a championship

00:36with the too many men on the ice penalty yeah we only want we only made one

00:39mistake he made like six mistakes in a row this guy I get him out of there I

00:44mean I know I had to live with my wife for the next week it's gonna be trouble

00:48have you ever seen anything like the fan interference that we saw this week in in

00:53New York now I lived in New York for a long time I saw a lot of stuff like that

02:46they're under 500 they're like 22nd in the league and goals for their the goals

02:52against isn't too bad 11th power play penalty-killing you know below average

02:59five on I mean Joe Sacco's a good penalty-killing coach and I think

03:04they'll get it back but the five on three the other night against

03:07Philadelphia for a minute and 30 seconds was really pathetic it was pathetic and

03:14with the exception of the fourth line this team is underachieving is kind but

03:25suck would be a better terminology they're they're really not very good

03:30right now yeah top defense pairing you know the only thing that besides the

03:35fourth line the goaltending was good the other night Corpus Allo I was happy to

03:38see him have a great game good for him after sitting around for a couple weeks

03:42without playing and Swayman's been okay I think you'll be even better as type

03:46type goes on and they start to form form some sort of a bond in front of them

03:51defensively but you know I I don't know what they're trying to be you know they

03:57people talk about identity I I don't know what their identity is but but

04:01maybe more importantly I don't know what their identity is supposed to be we

04:06talked last week about their puck possession game the last couple years it

04:10was it was wonderful but this team can't make a pass they can't make

04:14consecutive passes right now it's really it's a time to go back to the basics and

04:20you can see that Jim Montgomery you know he's no longer mr. Rogers you know what

04:26you know he's an he's an ugly angry man well Mike speaking of Jim Montgomery he

04:30put his lines basically in a blender yesterday at practice and that fourth

04:34line he had a different guy from each spot on the fourth line on a different

04:39spot on the ice he had one on the first line one on the second line one on the

04:42third line is that is that gonna help or is he being kind of over reactionary

04:48with how much he's like kind of switching up these lines trying to find

04:51a combination well he's trying to put it well there are four lines he's only got

04:56three on the fourth line he's trying to spread them out because they're the only

04:58ones playing well but he's still he's still a guy short you know I I don't

05:03know you're obviously he's doing whatever he can to sort of rearrange

05:09things so that they could get some sort of spark because they don't have any I

05:14mean they're not a puck possession team and they're not a crash and bang team

05:19because they can't get there fast enough I and I have to say that if you're the

05:26architect of this collection right now you have to be wondering that where did

05:32I go wrong and where did I staff go wrong didn't he tried he tried to get

05:37bigger which we're talking about Sweeney yeah yeah and so but you know in getting

05:44bigger did you get slower absolutely I mean and and that's on not just on

05:49Sweeney but on his staff that this is a this is a scouting staff and management

05:55issue right now and and unless there's something internally that's gone wrong

06:00and not okay what could that be are they in not in good shape they don't

06:05have very much in the way of training camp anymore we used to have like six

06:09weeks of horrific training camp and you certainly came out of training camp in

06:13shape but now they don't have much time and I you know I read to the guys have a

06:17tough practice for 45 minutes that's the deal with 45 minutes is that it so one I

06:24would look at conditioning are they in shape that that's the thing that you can

06:28as a coach we've talked about discipline before that's a thing you can control as

06:32a coach and conditioning and discipline are intertwined because if they're

06:37taking stupid hooking and holding penalties and because they can't get

06:40there maybe they're not in shape to get there but right now that he he doesn't

06:45have much in his bag of tricks to go to but he can control conditioning can

06:49control to a certain extent discipline and try to address it that way but right

06:55now you know I I'm you know I'm I'm gonna keep my hand on my wallet I'm not

07:00buying a ticket to watch that Mike one of the things that's a little strong

07:04wasn't it yeah well when was the last time you bought a ticket one thing we

07:11were kind of talk their point one thing we were kind of talking about and you

07:16know shy mentioned that about the lines being kind of jumbled up and moved

07:20around and I thought the purpose of getting a guy like Elias Lindholm was to

07:27pair him with pasta and hopefully be able to you know have your best

07:32offensive player have somebody that can set him up how do you build chemistry on

07:37a line how long does it take to build chemistry on the line only played 10

07:42games like can you have two guys on it why hasn't it happened yeah those two

07:48specific you have two guys that might not like playing with each other oh yeah

07:53you can I can remember a time where I had I put a line together we had a good

07:59first line and Neely was on it and Jani was on it and I was struggling with the

08:05second line the third and fourth lines were okay I was comfortable with it and

08:09so I sort of put a mishmash together of a second line and one day the two

08:17wingers came to me and said you know we don't like playing with a centerman

08:22it's really not our cup of tea and I said you know
