00:02So I was really shaking

00:04until I used the scene where

00:06I didn't realize that my tears were falling on my face.

00:14Hello, this is Mariel Mivera

00:16and in this video, we will break down

00:18the shot by shot of some

00:20iconic scenes of Teacher Emmy

00:22in Balota. So let's watch it.

00:24Okay, that was my Day 1.

00:30And I remember that

00:32Direk told me that

00:34we have here in the Philippines

00:36the hottest, the hottest

00:38weather that we can feel.

00:40And this is the day

00:42that we shot outside

00:44and it was really hot.

00:46And it was my first time to use the real

00:48Balota because

00:50at first, I used a mock-up

00:52but I decided to use

00:54the real Balota. So this is my

00:56first day, when I got home,

00:58it was still wet. That's why I can't

01:00forget it. I was crawling

01:02to the truck.

01:04The floor was really hot.

01:06The sunlight was really different.

01:08So when I put my hand

01:10on the floor, I was like,

01:12it's really hot. But because of

01:14the adrenaline of Teacher Emmy in running

01:16and hiding, I didn't hesitate.

01:18At the ending, I realized

01:20that I'm sweating

01:22because it's really hot.

01:24So those are the moments.

01:28Okay, that scene

01:30was really

01:32hard to act.

01:34Because it's really

01:36sharp. But that's what's good

01:38about the set because they make sure

01:40that I'm really safe

01:42when I'm passing by and everything.

01:44But this is also one of the hardest

01:46scenes because it was really

01:48as in, I went through

01:50it all the way.

01:52There's really no double.

01:56Actually, there were two

01:58twists in that one. It's funny

02:00if you're the one watching, you'll get excited

02:02because you don't know if

02:04the authorities will see

02:06Teacher Emmy in his hiding.

02:08Imagine, Direk Acijan saw

02:10a tree that

02:12has a curve that you can really hide.

02:14So that's where I really

02:16hid myself.

02:18I hid myself there.

02:20There were cockroaches, mosquitoes.

02:22Right?

02:24And there's the scene where

02:26the camera fell

02:28and I fell down that day.

02:30And then in that scene,

02:32if you really look closely,

02:34we shot it when it rained

02:36and it was cloudy.

02:38So our cameraman was standing

02:40at the root of the tree.

02:42He was there because we had an insert shot.

02:44So in that moment,

02:46the camera slipped.

02:48The camera fell on my head.

02:50So I had a big bump on my head that day.

02:52So everyone

02:54went crazy.

02:56Everyone panicked.

03:00So that day,

03:02I climbed up the tree.

03:04I didn't tell them, but they all

03:06asked if I was okay.

03:08Because to be honest, it was really high.

03:10At the same time,

03:12I really climbed up by myself.

03:14Then they left me by the tree.

03:16Then they said,

03:18everyone's out.

03:20So all of my connections to get down

03:22and my comfort that I'll be safe

03:24because there were

03:26things like that.

03:28They removed everything from the scene.

03:30So in that scene, I used my emotions

03:32because I was really scared.

03:34I was holding on to the tree.

03:36They even gave me a heavy bag.

03:38My feet were even folded.

03:40I couldn't move.

03:42I was like this.

03:44So I was really shaking.

03:46Until I used the scene

03:48that my tears were falling in fear.

03:50So I used that whole scene and emotion

03:52when I climbed up that tree.
