Should you have to stop driving at a certain age?

With news that 1 in 20 people agree that over-50s should be forced to stop driving, we ask the people of Cardiff if they agree with an age limit when getting behind the wheel.

00:00There was something like a retest that should be done at a certain age, because everyone's health slowly declines.

00:08It's about the reflexes as well. If somebody emergency brakes and you're not quick enough to stop, you're going to just crash.

00:15It's something that's probably beneficial.

00:17Yeah, yeah, for sure.

00:19I think it should be done on a case-by-case basis to be honest.

00:23I don't think you should do it based off age so much.

00:27I think if you have aged to an extent where you can't drive safely and you're putting others at risk, I guess.

00:37I don't know whether I agree with it being an age limit to stop, because obviously people are different.

00:41I think it possibly could be an age limit where people may have to retake their test.

00:45And maybe not even just for elderly people, just for anybody really.

00:48I think maybe people driving for 20 years, maybe even people a bit younger, just to check your safety.

00:54I understand why they do it, because people are older, maybe slower drivers or reactions, that sort of thing.
