03:19you can opt for the hybrid version for an additional $1,500.

03:24With this upgrade, the engine's output will boost to 310 horsepower

03:29and 295 pound-feet of torque,

03:38And the hybrid engine is really going to deliver that little bit more boost,

03:41especially going off the bat.

03:43That low-end torque from the electric motor

03:51and that is that the Nautilus is not a performance SUV.

03:55It's not a numbers SUV.

03:56It's not going to deliver fantastic handling.

03:59I think, on the contrary, this is an SUV that's going to be focusing

04:03on making sure that everybody riding in here is calm,

04:07is peaceful, has a very relaxing atmosphere.

04:11And that is because everything is tailored to that purpose.

04:15The suspension absorbs every bump inside the cabin,

04:19every broken pavement bit.

04:21All that vibration is reduced to a minimum

04:23to make sure that nobody really feels that movement.

04:26There's a lot of sound insulation around the cabin

04:29to make sure that there's no wind noise or there's no tire noise.

04:33Whether you're riding up here in the front or in the rear,

04:36the whole riding experience is going to be very quiet and very peaceful.

04:41And that's part of performance of intended function.

04:43That's part of engineering excellence.

04:46And that's partly why it won Motor Trends SUV of the Year.

04:50How big is the Nautilus on safety?

04:56The Nautilus was the only car out of all 10 finalists at SUV of the Year

05:21And on top of that, it can change lanes on its own,

05:29Now, let's say you're driving, you're commuting to work every day,

05:33and you don't have to put your hands on the wheel or your feet on your pedals.

05:36That's going to take away some stress of the driver.

05:39And that's going to really make a difference

05:41by the time you get to work a little stressed or more relaxed.

05:49You might be thinking, hey, you know, the Nautilus,

05:53it's a nice SUV, but it's going to be expensive.

05:56And, you know, it starts at $50,000, which that's not on the very affordable side of things.

06:01However, when you look at the segment, that's right in line with it.

06:05Now, the other good news is that there is a $50,000 model

06:09and an $80,000 model like the Black Label behind me.

06:13Now, for about $65,000, you can find one that's very well equipped

06:18with tons of the features that you find in the Black Label at a very decently affordable price.

06:24Both the gas and the hybrid powertrains offer pretty respectable fuel efficiency.

06:29The hybrid averages around 30 miles per gallon in combined driving,

06:33while the gas version delivers about 24 miles per gallon.

06:38At first glance, that difference might not seem like enough,

06:41but over time, you're going to notice it at the pump.

06:44Now, let's be real here.

06:46The hybrid engine is not just more fuel efficient, it's also the better performing option.

06:58So there you have it.

06:59Motortrend's 2025 SUV of the year is the Lincoln Nautilus, an outstanding midsize luxury SUV.
