00:00For your information, the 1992 Tourism Industry Act,
00:06Breakout Act No. 482, which was passed in 1992,
00:13stipulated the possibility of pre-emissions
00:20for tourist accommodation, including hotels.
00:24However, the Tourism Authority and the Hotel Operations Authority
00:28did not support the Ministry of Tourism and Motel Culture.
00:34Subsequently, due to the services offered by the hotel to the tourists,
00:42the Motel Authority held a meeting with the hotel operators on 17 October 2014
00:51to discuss the issue of entry and exit registration
00:57that resulted from the lack of workers in the observation area.
01:04I would like to thank the representatives of the hotel operators
01:09for attending this session
01:13and for considering the suggestions made during the discussion.
01:21The issues discussed have been stated in the media statement issued on 19 October 2014.
01:31Therefore, in order to ensure that the issues related to the operation of the hotel are resolved,
01:38the Motel Authority will hold a meeting with the Ministry of Housing and Local Government
01:50and the Ministry of Tourism and Motel Culture on 17 October 2014
01:53to make a decision regarding the purchase of licenses and permits
01:59for the operation of the hotel in Atai.
02:04In addition, the Ministry will also hold a meeting with the Ministry of Human Resources
02:10and the Ministry of Finance in order to resolve the issue
02:16of the lack of workers in the observation area
02:21in order to ensure the standard and quality of services provided by the hotel operators
02:29to the tourists, especially those who have participated in the Malawak Malaysia 2026 campaign.
02:39Bukit Ganteng
02:41Thank you, Mr. Speaker.
02:43As usual, check-in and check-out with permission.
02:48Check-out is at 12 o'clock.
02:51Check-in is at 2 o'clock. That is normal.
02:54But when there is a peak hour, peak time, holiday season, etc.,
02:59due to the lack of workers, the hotel cannot provide a clean room at 2 o'clock.
03:07Doesn't the Government or the Ministry make it a rule
03:13where check-in is at 2 o'clock and check-out is at 12 o'clock?
03:18But when there is no time, you have to be late,
03:22the hotel should provide either drinks or food as compensation.
03:33Thank you, Mr. Speaker.
03:36As I said earlier, the hotel operators are not under us.
03:41After the discussion, we will continue to contact the Minister.
03:47That's all.
03:48Bukit Bendera
03:49Thank you, Mr. Speaker.
03:52My additional question.
03:55As stated by the Minister,
04:00hotels are under the jurisdiction of the local government.
04:05Is the role of MOTEC in ensuring the quality of services provided by the hotel
04:14is at a high level?
04:21Honourable Madam Speaker,
04:23As stated by the Minister,
04:30MOTEC will hold a discussion with the Ministry of Home Affairs,
04:36the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Ministry of Public Works
04:39to resolve the issue of hotel management and operational matters
04:46as long as the hotel operations are carried out
04:50before the quality and ease of service provided by the hotel operators are ensured.
05:00That's all.
05:01May I have one more question?
05:02I would like to invite Mr. Sato Hazan Bin Kayak Pulai.
