00:11Venezuelan Minister of Interior Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, presented evidences
00:16against the former Major of Maracaibo, Rafael RamĂ­rez, about his involvement in the corruption
00:21scheme and announced that the investigations are still underway.
00:25He also informed the beginning of the corresponding legal procedures leading to the indictment
00:30and later trials of those involved.
00:33Cabello explained that RamĂ­rez belonged to the opposition Justice First Party and had
00:37to pay employees outside the payroll of the Majors office through public cleaning companies.
00:52Now you can go to Maracaibo and you can see the mess the Maracaibo streets are in because
00:57nobody picks up the garbage except Corpo Zulia and also the national government.
01:04However, the Majors office in Maracaibo had completely disengaged from this responsibility.
01:11The people of the state of Zulia are beginning to file these complaints with the security
01:16agencies.
01:17And the Major of Maracaibo is involved in this plot.
01:25He has already been arrested.
01:27He is under arrest.
01:29There is also Mr. Juan Lara Villalobos, who is the President of the Municipal Institute
01:35of Urban and Domiciliary Cleaning, or IMAU, and also Mr. Dave Henry Villalobos Ortega.
01:45This individual, Alberto Silva, had contradictory responsibilities in the Majors office.
01:52But what is clear is that he had a great decision-making power to manage resources.
01:59Some call him a manager.
02:05Cabello also added that several other officials in the Majors office in Maracaibo were involved
02:10in the corruption scheme.
02:14I must clarify that this is just a first release of information.
02:19There are a number of other officials of the Majors office, aldermen of the municipality,
02:25who are part of this corrupt mafia, who are part of this investigation.
02:30Other people have been detained and have also been brought before the courts.
02:36But we considered it was necessary and important to inform the nation, and especially the state
02:42of Zulia and the municipality of Maracaibo, because people have tried to manipulate these
02:48events.
