00:00In Eastern Visayas, all local governments are already prepared for the possible effects of the typhoon Christine.

00:06The details are in the national news of Sol Alarcon of PIA Eastern Visayas.

00:11The tropical cyclone Duen Signal No. 1 in Eastern Visayas has already risen,

00:17so all local governments are alerted as to the possible effects of the typhoon Christine.

00:22First, the local government units suspended their classes and jobs

00:26due to the strong rain and floods.

00:29Yesterday, the Pre-Disaster Risk Assessment or PEDRA meeting was held

00:33by the members of the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, RDRRMC,

00:38and local officials.

00:40They discussed the preparations of the local government and government agencies.

00:45The Disaster Response Team of DSWD was also alerted

00:49to respond immediately to the needs.

00:51Family food packs and non-food items for the region were also prepositioned.

00:56As far as DSWD, particularly on our response interventions,

01:03the DSWD has a total of 110,742 family food packs.

01:11This is distributed in the different 62, we call it, preposites.

01:18And also, we have a total of 37,486 assorted non-food items.

01:26There is also a standby stockpile of family food packs

01:30that is worth Php 140 million.

01:32The DSWD Regional Field Office 8 is there for additional assistance if necessary.

01:38Residents are prepared to evacuate if the authorities issue a warning.

01:44In the barangay, in the trompa, we are just there to prepare for the evacuation.
