00:00This is the first time in the UAE that a combined heart and lung transplant has been performed.
00:09The case we're discussing today is an Emirati lady who was born with a hole in her heart,
00:15what we call an atrial septal defect. Over the course of her life, this led to significant
00:20increase in blood pressure inside her lungs. Before her surgery, she was so sick that she
00:25could not leave the hospital and had to stay in the hospital for very aggressive medical management
00:31to keep her heart and her lungs strong enough while we were waiting for appropriate organs
00:38to do her transplant surgery. She underwent a very complex eight-hour heart and lung transplant.
00:45We have been able to bring multiple teams together at a very high level of experience
00:50and competence to do a very complex operation successfully.
00:57After that, as her new heart and lungs continue to get stronger, she has made brilliant recovery
01:03and is now home with her family. And if you look at her, you would not believe that she has had
