In a clip from his latest Netflix series Fatherhood with My Father, Jack Whitehall explores becoming a dad - to hilarious effect. Daughter Elsie has since been born and she is coming with her dad and grandfather for their live stage shows early next year.

00:00I've been getting some advice on fatherhood from Michael.

00:03How's that gone?

00:04I would say, yeah, mixed results.

00:06To be honest, Jack, you're asking the wrong parent.

00:09As you know, I worked as a postnatal dealer for ten years.

00:12I don't think you have any idea what is coming down the tracks at you.

00:17As Daddy found out, you get chucked in at the deep end

00:20and it's sink or swim.

00:21Not a great analogy for Michael, obviously.

00:24Cos he can't swim. Cos he can't swim.

00:26I only couldn't swim because of the monks.

00:28Because of the monks who taught swimming at my school,

00:33they were all wearing habits.

00:35Live and learn, Jack.

00:36But they were not allowed to take their clothes off

00:38and jump in the swimming pool.

00:40Every day when I go to swimming pools, I think, if only I could swim.

00:45Why are you going to swimming pools every day?

00:47I often go and hang around the swimming pools.

00:50It's not something I would admit to on camera.
