Sheffield Steelers' coach Aaron Fox on what makes forward Robert Dowd so special after he became the Elite League's all-time point scorer with goal in the 6-3 win over Glasgow Clan.

00:00There's a lot of things that, you know what I mean, you can look from my first moments

00:08here with Dowdy, he's been a guy that's led from the forefront from day one for me.

00:14His compete level I think on game nights especially is what sets him apart, like he just has a

00:19fire in him, loves scoring goals, loves competing, takes care of himself away from the rink very

00:25very well, you know, just one of those guys that you pencil into your top six and know

00:30that he's going to give everything he has every single night and that's when you play

00:34that way and you can shoot the puck like he can shoot it, you know, you're going to rack

00:38up the numbers so it doesn't surprise me at all he's in the position he's had, especially

00:42with how long his career has been in the UK here and, you know, couldn't be happier for

00:49him and what an amazing accomplishment it is.

00:52Even just the way he plays, he just has a bit of everything doesn't he, he's willing

00:57to drop the points.

00:58I think he's happy.

00:59You know, get something out of his system perhaps, but he does have a bit of everything,

01:03he offers a bit of everything obviously and points, it's not just about the points is

01:07No absolutely, like I said his compete level is a guy that never wavers, you know what

01:11I mean, you know from puck drop to puck finish that he is going to play his butt off, compete

01:17hard.

01:18I've moved him to center the last few years because I feel like he's so good below the

01:22hash marks and gets stops and swarms quick and does a lot of those things that he predominantly

01:27played wing I think before I got here, but I've loved him in the center spot and he can

01:32shoot it, he retrieves pucks, he can make plays, he's just a heck of an all around player

01:37that I've been happy to have him on my team here, you know, I feel like he's the best

01:43Brett Ford in the league year on year and it's great he's with us.
