00:00Once upon a time, there lived a lion in the jungle.

00:27He was very powerful and strong, and all the animals of the jungle feared him.

00:41But slowly, with time, he got tired of hunting.

00:48He called all animals of the forest and passed an order.

00:56I would stop hunting down the animals in the forest, and in return, you would send one

01:05animal a day to my den, where I would kill the animal and eat it as my food.

01:15All animals, in fear of the lion's anger, started to obey this order.

01:45One day, it was the hare's turn to go into the lion's den.

01:58He was very sad.

02:02On his way to the lion's den, he came across an old well.

02:14He looked into it.

02:17It was very deep.

02:22As he looked on, an idea struck him.

02:35The lion was very angry that no animal had come that day.

02:44The hare slowly came towards the lion.

02:48The lion roared,

02:51Why are you late?

02:53The hare humbly replied,

02:56On my way, I happened to meet another lion in the jungle.

03:02He kept claiming himself to be the king of the jungle and wanted to eat me.

03:10I got away with much difficulty to give my life to you, your majesty.

03:18The lion was pleased with the hare, but the thought of another lion in the jungle made

03:26him angry.

03:29The lion roared,

03:32Do you know where he lives?

03:35The hare replied,

03:37Yes sir, please come with me.

03:43The hare took the lion to the old well.

03:52He said,

03:53Sir, that lion lives in this well.

03:59The lion peeped into the well.

04:03He mistook his reflection for another lion.

04:11He roared, and there was an echo.

04:16He thought that the other lion was roaring too, and jumped into the well.

04:23That was the end of the lion.

04:27The hare succeeded in his plan of outwitting the lion, and went back happy that he managed

04:36to save his life along with the other animals' lives as well.
