00:00So, we can start by talking about depression.

00:19Depressed people are sad and frustrated and disappointed.

00:24They tend to feel all negative emotions simultaneously in a manner that's paralyzing.

00:32Depression is fundamentally a biochemical disorder.

00:34One of the things I tried to determine as a good behaviorist was whether the person

00:40who was suffering was suffering because they were ill in the strictly physiological sense

00:46or whether they were suffering from the cumulative micro and macro catastrophes of life.

01:07The more unstable your life is, the less serotonin your brain produces and that makes you hypersensitive
