North Korea has destroyed a series of roads and railways linking the country with South Korea. It's the latest sign of worsening relations on the peninsula.

00:13It's a move that has fulfilled North Korea's vow to completely close the border and upset

00:17the delicate relationship with its neighbor to the south.

00:21Today, North Korea's North Cheok-gu, the border between North and South Korea, detonated the

00:26roads and rail lines that link the two countries, which is clearly a violation of the North-South

00:29Korea agreement.

00:30As a very abnormal measure, our government strongly condemns it.

00:33The destruction is the latest escalation on the Korean peninsula.

00:38Just a day before, Kim Yo-jong, a top North Korean leader and sister of Kim Jong-un, released

00:43a statement, delivered by state media, accusing South Korea of sending propaganda-filled drones

00:49over the capital city, an accusation Seoul has declined to confirm.

00:54The fact that they are sending drones over the capital city is also a serious political

01:01provocation.

01:02However, the fact that the means of doing this is a drone is the basis of the seriousness

01:07of this incident.

01:10North Korea says South Korea regularly violates their airspace, referring to balloons sent

01:16by activists full of aid and leaflets criticizing the regime.

01:20In retaliation, North Korea has sent their own balloons across the border, full of trash

01:26and even human feces.

01:31For months, North Korea has been laying mines and building barriers on the border, and increased

01:36missile and weapons tests.

01:38And now, with infrastructure linking the two countries destroyed, North Korean state media

01:43reports that this week, over a million young people have joined or returned to the military,

01:49increasing signs that relations between the two Koreas may only be headed for worse.
