They've made a sustainable cement made from 95% waste that reduces CO2 emissions by 85 percent.

00:00It's the second most used material in the world after water.
00:13It equates to about 8% of our global CO2 emissions, and we're changing that.
00:29I'm joined by two other amazing co-founders, and we're creating cement from 95% waste
00:34that reduces the CO2 emissions by 85%.
00:38We're doing this by using algorithms to change the chemistry of our cement.
00:46We're using a three phased approach with our waste materials.
00:49So firstly, we're using metal and mining slags.
00:52They're already used by the industry, but we can make them better.
00:55Secondly, we're using bio-waste, and thirdly, it's hazardous waste.
00:59So we're replacing cement completely.
01:07So we're different from normal cement from an environmental point of view, because we
01:11dry grind them together using mechanochemistry to get our reactions and chemical bonds.
01:27The goal is that nothing is ever sent to landfill, and that every industry understands how their
01:31waste can be made into new products.
01:34That's the future, and we're going to do that.
