00:00National Elderly Filipino Week is a joyous occasion in Butuan City.

00:04Some senior citizens in the area have participated in various competitions.

00:08Jennifer Gaetano was at the center of the news.

00:18Our fellow countrymen are not shy in showing their skills as senior citizens

00:22because despite their age, they are still active in participating in various competitions.

00:27This is a colorful and joyful celebration of the National Elderly Filipino Week in Butuan City

00:32where our grandmothers and grandfathers show their talents

00:35in dancing and singing in competitions, choral, ballroom dance, and duet.

00:39We are proud that they are active and we are also active

00:44because what we do is for the health of our bodies.

00:48I am excited because there are a lot of senior citizens who attended.

00:52I was able to perform the song that I wanted to sing.

00:56This celebration was led by the National Commission of Senior Citizens

00:59together with the local government of Butuan

01:01with the help of the City's Social Welfare and Development Department

01:04and Regional Interagency Committee for Senior Citizens.

01:08In her message, Sara Rosa Lingay, Project Development Officer 4 of NCSC Caraga, thanked all sectors

01:15who gave support to the elderly persons

01:17and hoped that more people will participate in the celebration next year.
