00:13This was said by President Marcos Jr. at the ministerial dinner with the delegates

00:17of the Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction 2024

00:23that started yesterday.

00:24Aside from the event, the leaders and experts helped to strengthen the knowledge and skills

00:33in science and technology that will help to reduce the effects of climate change.

00:40Here we can learn from each other, strengthen partnerships, identify innovative ideas,

00:46and adopt best practices. Our vision is clear, to reduce disaster risks and losses,

00:52and in doing so, protect lives, livelihoods, and the social and economic assets

00:57that underpin our societies. At the heart of our efforts, all our efforts is climate change,

01:05an issue that we have integrated in our national and regional policies.

01:11From investment strategies to policy implementation, disaster risk reduction

01:17and climate change adaptation and mitigation are now central to how we shape our future.
