00:00Let me get to my guest. Senator from Wisconsin. He may have the record for the most appearances

00:04on the Dan Bongino show. I'm not sure. Senator Ron Johnson, thanks for joining us today.

00:09Hello, Dan. Really appreciate you having me on to talk about our very real opportunity with the

00:15Eric Hove Day in Wisconsin and also Lieutenant Electoral votes for President Trump.

00:19You know, Senator, I got to tell you, I never fake it with my audience.

00:25I saw this coming for a while now. I've got a lot of friends from Wisconsin,

00:30Evita Duffy, Rachel Duffy, and Sean was a congressman there. Evita is a host on my network.

00:37They know Wisconsin politics better than anyone. Her dad was obviously a congressman. I know you

00:41know him well. You're on the show all the time telling me about Wisconsin politics. We've talked

00:46off the record, on the record. This is a state, I believe, being crushed by the inflation crisis,

00:51being hurt by the immigration crisis, too. They totally get it. And that your Senate race

00:56is competitive with Hovde, who's an amazing candidate against, frankly, Senator, your

01:03co-worker there in the Senate on the Democrat side, who's done nothing. She takes credit for

01:07everybody else's work and has never done anything, is the least surprising political news I've heard

01:12all year. Yeah, really, in decades of being elected official, I don't know anything that

01:17Tammy Baldwin has really accomplished. I really don't. Other than she's gotten elected, great,

01:22and voted for all this massive deficit spending, which has devalued our dollar and created so much

01:28pain for American families. But no, this is entirely possible. These races, these statewide

01:34races are always close in Wisconsin. The polls are just ridiculous early out, far ahead of the

01:40election. These are going to be close. And what is particularly noteworthy right now is Tammy

01:46Baldwin felt she had to release her internal polls, which Donald Trump is up by

01:53three. She's only up by two. I can't believe there's going to be that many ticket splitters,

01:58quite honestly. But she's obviously concerned. This is a cry for help. Hey, Democrats,

02:04you guys throw tens of millions of dollars more in here so I can smear Eric Hovde. And that's

02:09really what is so grotesque about this. Eric Hovde would be a fabulous senator. He's a serial

02:16entrepreneur. He's taken his success and he's created shelters for traffic children all over

02:25the world. And yet Tammy Baldwin, her entire campaign is talking about denigrating him,

02:31smearing him, lying about him. So he's going to need help. This is entirely possible. Eric

02:36Hovde.com. He needs small dollar donations. We can win this race, but he needs the resources to

02:43refute all the lies and talk about himself. He conquered MS. He had muscular sclerosis as

02:51a 27 year old. He conquered it through diet and exercise. He's an extraordinary individual.

02:57He could be a great U.S. senator. We're talking to Senator Ron Johnson from a critical state

03:03in Wisconsin. The reason I have Senator Ron is not just about the Senate race going on. He's not

03:08up in the cycle. But his Democratic colleague, Senator Know-Nothing Tammy Baldwin, is because,

03:18Senator, I read an article in The Wall Street Journal. I'm sure you probably saw the same one.

03:21It referenced the fact that, yes, Tammy Baldwin, the Democrat running for Senate again in Wisconsin,

03:27bizarrely released a bunch of terrible polls. And I have a clip I'm going to play tomorrow of

03:32Mark Halperin and Sean Spicer, where Halperin says, hey, man, you never do that. The only

03:37reason you release a bunch of bad internal polls is exactly what you just said. This is a cry for

03:42help. We're getting crushed here. And the reason I bring it up is in the same article, they say,

03:47listen, if Kamala Harris loses Pennsylvania, it's really bad. She's got probably a 90 percent

03:52chance of losing. If she loses Wisconsin, there is almost no path. There is a 99 percent chance

04:00the race is over. That's how critical of a state Wisconsin is going to be on election night.

04:06So Wisconsin is the quintessential bellwether state here. I mean, how Wisconsin goes,

04:11I really think the nation goes. And again, what we are doing on the ground is ground game,

04:17ground game, ground game. We are encouraging everybody to vote early, bank that vote so that

04:22all of our get out to vote efforts are going to be directed toward the low propensity voters

04:26who will decide this election. So if you listen to me in Wisconsin, vote now. Tell everybody you

04:31know to vote early. Instead of being down two, three, four thousand votes because early voting

04:37on Election Day, we want to be ahead. And in Wisconsin, you could have miserable weather here.

04:43So you just can't take the chance. So vote early. And again, Eric Hovday needs support. Eric

06:35in Wisconsin. If Eric Hovde wins here in what would have been an upset a few days ago, but

06:42hopefully now, I think this is a toss-up, and a lot of independent political analysts feel the

06:46same way. If Hovde wins this race, we're doing, I don't want to get ahead of ourselves, but we're

06:51looking really good in Montana with Sheehy Tester. West Virginia is obviously probably a fait

06:56accompli at this point. Again, I got to get out and vote and execute. Ohio's looking a lot better

07:02with Bernie Moreno. Senator Johnson, we could, and again, we got to execute and bring 10 people

07:09with us. There's no excuses, no red wave talk. But we could have a three, four seat buffer in

07:15the Senate. And you know as well as I do, if we lose the Senate and Donald Trump wins, he's

07:20getting impeached on day one. They will make up another charge, felonious mopery in the umpteenth

07:25degree, piracy on the open seas. They'll just make it up, and he's going to get impeached if we lose

07:31the House and Senate. That's just a fact, and it's going to be useless to have won the presidency.

07:36Yeah, it would be 100% non-stop torment, which is what he experienced pretty much in his

07:43first term. So no, we can't let that happen. Again, we probably need a stronger majority

07:49because we've got a few Republican senators that don't always vote with us. So you know,

07:53we need a little margin of error would be nice. I don't want to be operating with the thin margin

07:57that Speaker Johnson's had to deal with. So we need a larger margin in the House. We need a

08:02larger margin in the Senate. We obviously have to win the presidency. You know, one thing I always

08:06talk about here in Wisconsin is trickle up the elections. We have made sure that we have a lot

08:11of Republican assembly candidates, even in districts where it's going to be difficult for

08:15them to win because they're out there campaigning hard like Eric Hovde is. And when you vote for

08:20one Republican down ballot, chances are you're going to vote for people at the top of the ticket

08:25like Eric Hovde, like President Trump. It's really the key to President Trump getting 10 electoral

08:30votes. So again, this is an all-out effort. We have the ground game in place. We just have to

08:46I'm going to ask you for a personal favor here on the air. It's more professional,

08:50not so much personal. But this FEMA story is the first time in my, I don't know, 20 years

08:56intensely covering and being interested in politics where I have seen government bureaucrats

09:01on the defensive about flushing our money down the toilet bowl. I'm serious. I've never seen

09:05anything like it. FEMA does this every time. And by the way, it's Republicans and Democrats. You've

09:10seen it. We're not, you know, they've done it in the past too, where there's an emergency. Oh,

09:14we need more money. Well, what did you do with the money we already gave you? And it never,

09:18they go to Congress and they go, if you don't give us money, people are going to die.

09:22I have never seen a change in the argument as fast as I've seen with this Hurricane Helene

09:28and soon to be Hurricane Milton disaster, where now Mayorkas, when he realized they'd spent our

09:34FEMA money, and yes, it is FEMA money. Don't tell me about different pots. It's FEMA money

09:39on illegals. Now Mayorkas, for the first time I've ever seen is changing his story.

09:44And he's like, oh, I think we're good for now. We may not need more money. I have never seen

09:50that in my lifetime. Please, as a professional, do not let this go. We have an opportunity

09:56for people to look under the hood for the first time and see what destruction this government

10:01has done in financing illegal behavior over our own suffering citizens. It is a freaking disgrace.

10:08So, Dan, you know, if we win the majority, I'll be the chairman of the permanent subcommittee

10:12investigation. Actually, I have stronger subpoena power and investigatory power than

10:16I had when I was chairman of the full committee. So I'm looking forward to it. You know, I will

10:20use those subpoenas to investigate this, to do the oversight. That's what you're seeing here.

10:25This is the culmination of decades of Congress advocating its oversight responsibility,

10:31allowing oversight and investigations to pretty much atrophy. And the administration knows it,

10:37and then they write these appropriation bills, thousands of pages. Nobody reads this stuff,

10:42no oversight that are so loosey goosey that it probably makes, you know, this siphoning of funds,

10:48this, you know, transfer of funds from FEMA to illegal immigrants or to Lebanon or to wherever

10:54they want to go. It's probably legal because Congress on a bipartisan basis made it legal.

10:59We need to tighten up this entire process. Congress is so dysfunctional. That's also,

11:04by the way, why I'm strongly supporting Rick Scott as our leader in our conference. Hopefully

11:09the majority leader, he'd make an exceptional majority leader and we need the support of the

11:13public to pressure senators in our conference to vote for Rick Scott. Yeah, I think he's the best

11:20choice as well. I really do. And my endorsement, whatever it means, I think he's the best. I don't

11:26just say that because I'm from Florida either. Senator, I know you're not kidding because you

11:29have reached out to me multiple times. You have been looking into DHS secret service and the

11:35activities of this department for a long time. You're not a Johnny come lately. You've called

11:38me repeatedly about the secret service asking for subject matter expertise because you're so

11:43deeply concerned about President Trump nearly losing his life twice. So I know you're going

11:48to follow up and I appreciate that. Let me ask you one last question. I'll let you go.

11:52Senator, I'm sensing a real generational shift in the Republican Party. I'm not prone to hyperbole

11:58on this. I'm the one telling people don't get into the red wave talk because it's stupid

12:01and counterproductive. However, I'm doing it based on evidence, not just personal anecdotes

12:07from union workers. I know my brother's a union guy, not just personal anecdotes from friends

12:12of mine who happen to be black or Hispanic. I'm seeing it polling data in Fox News articles,

12:18in CNN pieces by Harry Hinton. We're getting working class voters, black male voters,

12:24Hispanic voters in numbers we've never seen before. If we execute on Election Day,

12:29you could see a permanent generational shift in what the Republican Party coalition looks like

12:35moving forward. Now, we have become Republicans now have become the party of the working men and

12:40women of this country. Now, I was at the Trump rally in Dodge County on Sunday and had a big

12:45group of UAW union guys and they were enthusiastic. They were enthusiastic to support and

12:52vote for President Trump and Eric Covney and other Republicans up and down the ballot because

12:55they realized the Democratic Party is now the party of the elite, of the billionaires, of the

13:01people who are using government to their own advantage, to the disadvantage of ordinary

13:05Americans. So, no, it has been a steep shift in terms of who represents the good, hard working

13:12men and women, the people that pay the taxes, that foot the bill. That's the Republican Party

13:16now. And it has been a complete change in politics. Yeah, I've seen it. Folks, Eric Covney,

13:24running for Senate, Wisconsin, an absolutely critical race. We can draw some money into that

13:28race. It will also impact the presidential race in Wisconsin. And as I told you, the Wall Street

13:33Journal, who is really not a huge Trump fan, I believe it was one of their articles and their

13:38insiders acknowledged if Kamala Harris loses Wisconsin, there is almost no path for her to

13:43win. Absolutely critical state. Senator Ron Johnson from Wisconsin, always have an open
