00:00Declaration of result of poll for Northmore Pampershire. Election of a

00:04councillor for Burton and Broughton Ward on Thursday the 10th of October 2024.

00:10I, Adele Wiley, being the returning officer at the above election, do hereby

00:15give notice that the number of votes recorded for each candidate at the said

00:19election is as follows. Jenny Ethel Davies, Liberal Democrat, 337 votes.

00:27Alexander Jordan Evelyn, Conservative Party candidate, 939 votes. Nigel John

00:35Paget, Labour Party candidate, 260 votes. Adrian Paul Watts, Green Party, 489 votes.

00:44There were 16 votes that were rejected in total. The turnout was 20.4% and I do

00:52hereby declare that Alexander Jordan Evelyn, also known as Alex Evelyn, is duly

00:58elected.

01:08I want to thank the returning officer and all the counting agents. I'm brilliant to make this all happen.

01:13Democracy in action. I also want to thank all the other candidates for getting involved as well.

01:16It's been a hard-fought campaign but a really good one as well and really all I

01:21can say is, you know, let's get going really. So thank you all.

01:36Yeah, it's been a great campaign, very hard-fought, but a delightful one. I've spoken to hundreds of

01:42presidents over the last four weeks and they've come to me with their concerns on road safety, on bus stop shelter and provision,

01:49on the Harold Mason Centre, but also the energy park and stock warehouse development there.

01:55So, got all their views on board and I'm really ready and thrilled to deliver for them.

02:00It's going to be an exciting sort of six months, obviously the next election back in May.

02:04There's a lot left to be on the doorstep and I completely understand why.

02:08We've been pretty electioned out. We haven't had the PFCC elections here, which is a general election,

02:14but I think it shows that, you know, we're on the road from a Conservative point of view

02:18and we need to renew and rebuild and go forward. So I'm obviously very happy for my party as well,

02:23but it's also a really great personal achievement as well, so I'm super happy.
