00:42In the burgeoning cities of the past, horses were indispensable.

00:53unloading cargo from ships and trains, and even operating machinery for making furniture,

00:58ropes, beer, and clothing.

01:02Despite the romanticized image of horse-drawn carriages in films featuring characters like

01:06Sherlock Holmes or D'Artagnan, the reality was far less idyllic.
